Airsense 10 Resmed inside noise

Post by adin67 » Fri Aug 09, 2019 7:19 am

Hi, my new ( gentile-touch) Airsense 10 has arrived. I'm from Europe and the unit came pretty quickly from states (10 days). After the same setup as my old one (S9) I went to sleep but suprise, a weird noise came from the device like a hissing, whistling on inhaling. :? . Even with earplugs, the noise was coming to the mask via the tube. Noise seems to be coming from the motor chamber or left-side air inlet. It's normal to work in that way??
I use a P10 pilow mask, I should change it? Thanks,

Only thing I can suggest is to reseat / tighten all the connections, hoses, humidifier, filter and filter door.

Double check to see that the humidifier chamber is properly assembled including the gasket.
If no humidifier chamber, check the plate to make sure it's seated properly.

Also verify that the hose is seated properly, and that there is no tear or hole in the hose.
Sometimes they wear near the ends.

to the OP: i agree with jsmit86 on the humidifier chamber. had a similar whistling sound when it wasn't seated properly.

but that's enough about them.

Hello, back to the problems, the noise reappeared, I suspect a bad gasket (Humidifier Chamber Air Outlet) like this Image

Mine is oval and wath i what I see in the picture is round.

I believe that is the gasket and swivel part that connects to the hose.
If you have a climateline hose, try swiveling the hose from left to right 180 degrees a few times with the humidifier chamber out of the unit.
Then, take a CPAP wipe, baby wipe or a damp microfiber cloth and massage that gasket a bit. It may just have been compressed into that oval shape.

Then try running the machine after putting the chamber back in. If the unit squeals, try swiveling that piece again a few times to see if you can eliminate the noise again.

If none of that works, you may need to replace that part. Try removing it first and replacing it. Instructions are in the owner's guide.
I removed mine to clean it once, but I usually just wipe it done from time to time.
