It’s good to hear from you again and especially to hear that you are again pursuing treatment. Many people would recommend that if you have a choice, you should get a ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset (every word matters there).

Let us know how things go tomorrow. I really hope you’ll get a chance to get a new machine. Good luck!

That's the original machine that got damaged originally by my knucklehead roommates. Here's to hoping the doctor is up for it ...

Back from my appointment: With my usage of the brick for just 1 - 2 hour usage for that 45 / 50 day period, the doctor was able to see I was having 56 apnea events per hour. It's not common or rare that my brain decided to reset to day one of therapy usage (i.e. panic attacks). He confirmed my symptoms were from my sleep apnea, Hell I fell asleep in the room waiting for him and it was only a ten minute wait.

The plan: Before getting the sleep study done, in order to please Medicare so a replacement machine can be covered, he wants me to give the brick an honest try for a minimal of 30 days, but 60 days preferred. I see him again December 23rd.

I have not used ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset yet. I am thinking to buy one.

kbh209, that's a long wait, especially for someone with an AHI of 56. Can you get the doctor to move the next visit up to the 30-day mark? And is there any chance at all that you can do without the insurance coverage and buy a lightly used machine out of your pocket?

Which model brick was the doctor able to figure out there were 56 apneas per hour.
The System One model 250??? If so...I want to find out where he is buying is crystal balls.

He mentioned the website (Philip's for Physicians) but for the life of me I cannot remember the name.

Unlocked.

There is no need to lock the SD card when someone is using OSCAR/SleepyHead and a Respironics machine.

OSCAR won't work on the model 250 Respironics machine though....you may not even get hours of use because OSCAR needs some files on the card that the machine doesn't write to the SD cards of bricks.
So you may not even get hours of use.....you would need to use Encore to get the hours of use on a model 250 machine.

If the card is locked, (write inhibited), how could the machine place data on it?

Let me state for the record all this week I've been getting 6 + hours of sleep with this brick. I'm not sure why but my brain and body finally gave in to accepting the machine as beneficial.

so, i'm way to lazy to scroll back. how long did this acceptance take?

also, how was that 6 plus hours of sleep? good?

all in all, this is tremendous news!

What good news! It sounds as though you will easily meet the expectation for usage before you appointment next month — then on to a new machine, I hope!

The second acceptance took a a while. I believe it was spring time I got the brick from my friend (because my machine broke). I gave up in July in trying. Just been stubbornly wearing it for about the last two or three weeks after I noticed the bloody noses were starting up again.

Sleep has been great, I feel refreshed when I wake up. Since this brick is a water hog I bought four 1 gallon bottles of distilled water today at the grocery store. :P
