F20 Cushion Design Change?

Post by Cokomo » Tue Jun 05, 2018 9:47 am

Have been using the F20 since it's inception. Approximately 3 months ago the F20 large cushion began to irritate both sides of the bridge of my nose until it broke the skin. Had to switch to Dreamware full face mask which is ok but it isn't as comfortable as the F20. Has anyone noticed a change in how their F20 cushion fits in the last few months? I suspect a design change but would like to hear from some F20 owners.

Interesting. Maybe. I have noticed a bit more of an itch on the side of my nose where it is making contact with the inside supports of the AirFit F20. Don't know how else to explain it. Not enough to cause any damage, though. Just annoying.

Padacheek sells a liner for this mask.
If it works for you, it tends to extend cushion life, too.

Have the Padacheek liner but it doesn't address the more narrow cushion @ the bridge of nose, issue . Tried the F20 last night and today I have red irritation marks on the sides of bridge. Skin will be broken if I continue a few more days with the F20.
I think the supports towards the top of cushion are more rigid now and they are what's causing the irritation. I just snipped the supports to see if that helps to widen the top third of the cushion. Have tried the Air Touch cushion and found it is even more narrow @ the top....to the point of effecting the flow of air.

I recently did a three month trial of an F20 cushion for Resmed. I couldn't tell if it was a new design, or just the regular cushion. I used it for three months with no problems, and I had been using the F20 for almost a year before the trial started. I have since switched to the Dream Wear full face mask.

No matter how gentle the pressure, some people's skin reacts to contact over long periods. I have to switch between nasal pillow masks and Dreamwear for this reason. So, a couple of weeks using nasal pillows, then one week of Dreamwear seems to work the easiest for me.

I can't get the F20 to seal. I've tried the silicone and the memory foam cushion but neither work. Granted my pressure is maxed out at 20/25.
