Respironics REMstar Auto (Pre-2007 standard unit, not "M" series or PR System One): you can enter the setup menu by holding down the Ramp button and both of the right and left arrow buttons under the display window, while plugging in the CPAP. The 3 buttons must be held down until the setup screen starts.

Respironics REMstar M Series (CPAP or BiPAP): Unplug the power cord from the back of the CPAP machine, then hold down both the left and right arrow keys while simultaneously plugging in the power supply. Once the device beeps twice, release the buttons. After you hear the two beeps, you'll see the word setup in the lower right corner of the LCD screen. When you select setup you'll be in the clinician's mode where you can adjust every feature of the CPAP machine, including the pressure setting.

Philips-Respironics PR System One (REMstar Auto, REMstar DS150, BiPAP ST, BiPAP AVAPS, BiPAP Auto with Bi-Flex, BiPAP Pro with Bi-Flex, REMstar Pro with C-Flex & REMstar Plus): Supply power to the device: first, plug the socket end of the AC power cord into the power supply. Then plug the pronged end of the AC power cord into an electrical outlet that is not controlled by a wall switch. Finally, plug the power supply cord's connector into the power inlet on the back of the device. Once the device is powered, the home screen appears (it is a large box on the screen with four little boxes you can select by turning the control wheel). Turn the wheel to toggle between the 4 options and highlight "setup". Once setup is highlighted press and hold both the control wheel and ramp button on the device for at least 5 seconds. You will hear a double beep and the provider mode screen will appear. Also, you should remove the smart card prior to making adjustments, otherwise it will revert to the previous settings.

Philips-Respironics REMstar SE: Philips-Respironics REMstar SE CPAP machine Remove the adapter power cord from the back of the machine, wait a couple of seconds, then plug it back in. The unit should power up. Press the power on button, let the unit blow for a couple seconds, then press the power button again. The blower will shut off. Press the farthermost button on the left (the Ramp button) and the left-arrow button right beside it, simultaneously, and hold them both down (around 5 seconds) until P-1 shows up on the display. This will indicate you are in the Setup Mode. At this point, you will be allowed to cycle through the setup menu. As you depress either the left or right arrow key, you will land on several icons on the display that indicate which setting you can adjust. You want to get to the cm H2O icon. Depress either left or right until you reach that icon. Press the power button once, and your pressure setting will blink. You may then use the left or right buttons to change your pressure setting. When you are done, simply press Ramp and the left-arrow button simultaneously, and hold until P-0 flashes briefly. You are then back in the standard operating mode. Please note that the left and right arrow keys may stick. You must be SURE you are pressing the left-arrow key independently. I found this was easiest to achieve by using my index finger to depress the Ramp button, and my pointer finger to depress the leftmost edge of the left-arrow button.

Respironics SleepEasy: Plug in the machine while simultaneously pressing the plus and minus buttons on top of the machine. The LCD shows the pressure setting along with an icon of a open padlock. To move between options, press the ramp button. The plus and minus buttons adjust the increments.

Respironics Solo LX : Place the Solo LX device on a readily accessible surface. Plug in the power cord to the wall outlet. Unplug the power cord from the rear of the device. Hold down the "Pressure" and "Ramp" buttons simultaneously while plugging the power cord back into the rear of the device. Release the buttons. Read the current pressure setting on the display. Press the "Ramp" button to increase the pressure setting. Hold down the "On/Off" button when finished and press the "Ramp" button once. Release the "On/Off" button.

Respironics BiPAP Auto SV & BiPAP ST (older gray colored model):

Respironics REMstar Lite: plug the cord into the AC outlet and leave the other end unattached to the machine. Then, firmly hold down both the ramp and power button while plugging the cord into the machine at the same time. When you do so, the "unlock" icon appears and the blower starts up. You can then navigate through the menu to change pressures.

Puritan Bennett GoodKnight 420 Series: Make sure the CPAP machine is plugged in, then find the secret button beneath the "Go" in the word GoodKnight which appears just above the LCD screen. Press the secret button and the Information Access button simultaneously for 2 or 3 seconds. The CPAP machine will now be in the provider setup mode. Press the Information Access button to cycle through the list of adjustable settings, and use the arrow buttons to make adjustments.

Invacare Polaris EX (and possibly other Invacare models): While in stand-by press and hold both up and down arrows for about 15 seconds. Press up arrow for setup. Use up and down arrows to adjust each setting. Press the large Invacare (enter) button to go to the next setting. If it asks you "compliance yes/no?", select "yes".

Invacare Polaris LT (you will need a manometer to adjust pressure exactly): Open the top cover using a screwdriver; this will reveal two "secret" UP and DOWN buttons. Turn the machine on and press both the UP and DOWN buttons simultaneously for 3-5 seconds until the pressure LED light turns on. To reduce pressure, push the DOWN button; to increase pressure, press the UP button. Use a manometer to adjust exact pressure output.

Fisher & Paykel HC 234: Enter programming mode by holding down the "Ramp" (top) button and the "Next" (Right arrow/bottom button) for three seconds. When you get into the pressure set mode you will first be able to set adjust altitude, which is indicated by a drawing of a mountain range on your screen. You can change or ignore this setting and then push the "Next" (Right arrow/bottom button) to advance to pressure setting which will be indicated by the characters "cm h20 " on the screen. Use the Up and Down keys to change the pressure setting. Lastly, push the bottom button again to exit programming mode.

Fisher & Paykel HC 220 & 220LE: On the side of the machine where the power switch is, you should be able to see a little small cut-out shape like a square, or hidden door. Simply push and pull down and it should slide off, under that there is a black dial that you turn up or down to change the pressure. (note: the right dial, not the left). Right in front of the adjuster knob is an LCD window that will give you the current pressure setting.

Fisher & Paykel ICON Auto, Premo & Novo: Start from the 12 o'clock position of the Home Screen. Press and hold the button in the middle of the SmartDial, and use your other hand to turn the SmartDial in a clockwise direction until you return to the 12 o'clock postion. Do not release the Smart Dial button while turning. Turn the SmartDial back (counter clockwise) one position while still holding down the button and the settings in the Clinician Menu will appear. You can now release the SmartDial button. NOTE: The Clinician Menu will default back to the Patient Menu after 30 seconds, or if the unit is turned off at the power supply. You can manually exit the Clinician Menu by repeating the instructions to enter the menu.

ResMed S8 Compact, S8 Elite, S8 AutoSet Vantage & AutoSet Spirit: Press the right and down arrows simultaneously for about 3 seconds until the word "clinical" appears. Select Menu, then use the left and right arrows to cycle through the settings. Use the up and down arrows to make adjustments.

ResMed A10 Series (AirSense 10 AutoSet, AutoSet for Her, Elite, CPAP, AirCurve 10 VAuto, S, ST, ASV, & CS PaceWave): The "dial" can be turned or pushed. The button below the screen with the house icon is called the "home" button. To access the clinician menu, press the dial and the home buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The clinician menu will appear. Select parameter(s) you wish to modify with the dial (push down to select, turn to modify). When done, press the dial and home buttons for 3 seconds again, or find the "exit clinical menu" option in the menus.

ResMed S9 Series (S9 AutoSet, S9 Elite, S9 Escape Auto, S9 Escape, S9 VPAP S, S9 VPAP ST, S9 VPAP Auto & S9 VPAP Adapt): Plug in machine and turn the Push Dial until the device is showing the Home position (Home Icon illuminated). In Home position, press the Push Dial and the Setup Menu buttons down simultaneously for 3 seconds. The clinician menu will appear. Select parameter(s) you wish to modify with the Push Dial (push down to select, turn to modify). When done, select the Home choice again from the displayed menu, push down the Push Dial again and the adjustment is saved.

ResMed VPAP II: Insert the pronged end of the power cord into a power outlet. Insert the other end of the power cord into the back of the VPAP II flow generator. Insert one end of the air tubing into the front of the VPAP II flow generator. Hold down the two buttons on the far right side of the control panel. Press the power switch on the back of the flow generator. Release the buttons once you see "Clinician Mode" appear on the LCD screen. Cycle through the menu items using the up and down arrows. The first seven items on the list are the "Primary Settings" and include the following items: respiratory rate, tidal volume, leak, delivered pressure, set start pressure, set IPAP min and smart start/stop. The "Primary Settings" are the items that appear on the LCD screen when you initially turn on the flow meter. The rest of the selections will be located on the secondary menu. Press the "Option" button to select the desired menu item or to set a value. For example: to set the delivered pressure, press the down arrow four times and press "Option." To change the delivered pressure, press the up and down buttons until you reach the desired pressure. Confirm by pressing "Option" again. Press the "Menu" button once you have completed making changes to return to the main menu. The selections will now be displayed on the LCD screen.

ResMed S7 Lightweight: Turn on CPAP machine and wait for the "Welcome "message to appear. Press the right button (with the red line on it - it will also have the word EXIT above it in the display window). The CPAP display should show "S7 Lightweight " or "S7 Elite" or "S7 Spirit" and the word MENU should show above the left button. Press both the right button and the down-arrow button at the same time and hold down for at least 3 seconds. "CLINICAL MENU - WELCOME" should show in the CPAP display. Continue holding down the two buttons for several more seconds until the words in the display window say "CLINICAL - MENU exit" (Release the two buttons now.) Press the left button with the word MENU above it. Next you should see "SETTINGS - ENTER exit" (if SETTINGS doesn't show it may be "RESULTS" or "OPTIONS" or "SERVICING"if it is any of these other words then use the middle up/down toggle button to navigate to "SETTINGS". When you see "SETTINGS" in the display, press the left button with the word "ENTER" above it (this now takes you into the SETTINGS menu). Use the up/down toggle button in the middle of the top of CPAP machine, to navigate to the settings you want to change - when you have the setting you want to change, press the left button with the word "CHANGE" above it. Use the up/down toggle button to vary the settings. When the setting change you want is showing, press the left button under the word "APPLY." A change is not saved until you press the "APPLY" button, so it's safe to hit the Change button and look at the various changes that can be made to a setting. No change is actually made unless you hit "APPLY." To get out of the "Apply" and "Change" areas and go back to simply walking through the CPAP menu items, press the righthand button under the word "Exit." Exit acts like the backarrow button of a browser. To exit completely out of the CPAP clinical menu just keep pressing the right button. It will have either "cancel" or "exit" written above it. Press it repeatedly (3 or 4 times) until you're out of the clinical menu.

ResMed Moritz S & Moritz ST BiPAP: On the back of the device below the display there are 3 buttons: plus ("+") , minus ("-") and a symbol for tools. Make sure your device is pluged in but switched off. Switch the machine on. The display first shows the device name and after a few seconds starts to automatically go through all menu stettings. When the first menu (just after the display of the device name) appears press the minus ("-") button. After two further menu items are displayed, the menu item "Breathing Hours" (or ""Atmungsstunden" in German) appears. Press the minus button ("-") again. Wait until the automatic walk-through has been finished. Use plus ("+") or minus ("-") buttons to select the menu item you'd like to change. Many thanks for answer to my question how to increase pressure in resmed aircurve 10; I will try new pressure modestly increased and hope it helps me to be rested after sleep tonight. My jaw is so badly underslung from birth that a surgeon I consulted said he was surprised I got any sleep at all. Even with the old settings 12/9 on my bipap I got some sleep but woke today, for example, very tired unable to do much at all, very low energy. I will make a donation now to say thanks for your help. bob baker
