Hi everyone, I'm on day 31, still waiting to see the sleep doctor on 5/1. I got finally my Oximeter, and yes it was on a slow boat from China...LOL. Things look like I thought they would, dropping into the 80's at night. I still get up tired, tired in the afternoon and some mornings waking up with headaches. My pressure is still at straight 9, at this point I will wait until I see the doctor since I am having so many central/clear airway events. My AHI is running from 8-12. I want this to work, and keep the mask on all night every night. Keeping the positive thoughts.
Kathy
First Night of Oximeter is this why I still feel like sh$#??

I think you probably need to increase your pressure.
Re: First Night of Oximeter is this why I still feel like sh$#??
What type of oximeter do you use and is it connected to your S9 machine, that's what I want to do if its possible. Thanks

You probably need to work on getting those leaks under control. Pressure needs are difficult to determine with so many events in different categories.

Those sudden huge drops in the O2 level are likely movement artifacts. Loss of sensory contact.
Real Oxygen level desats don't happen that quickly. Oxygen levels that drop due to an apnea event go down more slowly and up more slowly.
Loss of sensory contact is usually shown on the graph by gray lines. You definitely have the gray line.
How is your sleep quality when you do sleep? Do you go to sleep and not remember many awakenings or do you remember frequent awakenings for some reason or another?
You are still having enough obstructive apneas to make you feel like crap even if the centrals weren't real.
If the centrals are the real deal (even if they are sleep stage transition) and they are disturbing sleep quality..there's enough of them to impact sleep quality.
If they aren't real and are just awake stuff getting flagged...it means your sleep is crappy and that would explain feeling like crap.
You tried higher pressure didn't you? I can't remember. Maybe you didn't.
If you did were the OAs less in number?
Sometimes it is the OAs that are disturbing sleep and thus the primary cause of the central frequency because lots of sleep disruptions and thus greater chance of sleep onset or awake centrals getting flagged.
If you slept soundly with no wake ups at all that you remember....be sure to keep that appointment with your doctor?
When is the appointment?

Kathy, as Pugsy has pointed out your biggest drops in O2 were caused by artifacts. Pay attention to the line in your report that gives you % Artifact.
In your report that value is 11.8%. That means that of the 438 minutes you were wearing the pulse oximeter (7 hours and 18 minutes) it broke contact for 51.7 minutes. To clean up your report you can zoom in and using the mouse draw a box around the areas that have broken contact. That will eliminate that data from the report. This will result in a more accurate report of minimum O2 saturation.
Overall it appears that it takes you awhile to fall asleep and it appears that you only had maybe 2 REM cycles. That may not be enough to get you to the point where you spring out of bed in the morning full of energy for the day...

Re: First Night of Oximeter is this why I still feel like sh$#??
Kathy, It looks like this Sa02 data is from ResScan. Were you able to import the data from the Sp02 software that comes with the CMS 50F pulse oximeter into ResScan? Is there a trick to that?mrsbongo1 wrote: I got finally my Oximeter, and yes it was on a slow boat from China...LOL.
Thanks,
