Whoops, first power failure on CPAP

Post by Chikorita » Sun Nov 25, 2012 4:31 am

It's 9.30pm in Sydney Australia and the power has gone out in our suburb. No battery for the CPAP. Now the rubber really hits the road.

I'm hoping I can stay awake long enough til the power comes back. In the meantime, what is the recommended back-up option for an S9 Autoset please? I think I'll sort something out this week.

A 12v adaptor for the machine and a deep cycle marine battery would work for short outages.

Some have small auxiliary generators.

The adapter that Heaveylids referred to is here https://www.cpap.com/productpage/DC-Con ... hines.html. It is a lot more expensive than a normal 12 volt DC connector (like Philips Respironics uses), but you could use this set-up in your car by plugging it into where the 12 volt power supply is or use the other additional cable that it comes with to connect it directly to a battery as well.

Thanks. The power came back on after about an hour thankfully but it was a good prompt to get something organised.
