I just recently finally handed in my rental unit on Friday and picked up my new Resmed S9 Autoset II from my DME located just outside Toronto. Everything seemed final with the unit eventhough my first night i only slept 5 hours. On Saturday morning I started to examine the unit when i came across the serial numbers on the back. The unit itself S/N is 221121XXXXX and the H5i S/N is 221215XXXXX. Since both units are only 2 days old, I started to wonder what was going on. A friend of mine indicated to me that the unit itself is at least 1.5 years old. He asked me what the firmware was, and after he told me where to look, I told him it was SX474-0903. He told me that firmware 0905 as been out since mid Jan 2012.
He also indicated to me that he believes that firmware 906 is out!!!!! I asked him what does this matter? He told me that one of the biggest changes that he knows is the change from a SD card to a SDHD card that has replaced the normal SD card. He told me that if there was only 1 firmware change he would not be upset, however they should have given you a new unit.
He told me that i should call Resmed on Monday and find out the manufacture date and then call my DME and ask for a new unit
Do you agree? Is the newest firmware a big idea or should i just call the DME because this is a matter of principle?

Re: Resmed S9 Autoset II and Firmware
Mine has sx474-0602. It works fine and has an SHDC card it in. The resmed shdc card that came with it was a piece of junk. I replaced it with a Verbatim class 4 4GB card and now it has no issues. Had to format the whole card in Windows Vista Fat32 though. It didnt like what Formatting was on it stock. Per everyone on this site just about they say to turn off the machine and lock the card before putting it into the PC to be read. Then unlock the card put it back in the machine, power the machine on and your back up and running.
