I am using a lenovo netbook which has a start version of windows 7.0 and have downloaded SleepyHead v0.8.0.
I get the details and events great but there are no graphs only lines.

Latest 0.8.1 version is way off. I just now tried it. Wait till it gets fixed. He is working on Windows stuff with it.
Are you sure you got .8.0 or the most recent choice .8.1?

Instead of 0.8.1 try using 0.8.0 or one version older. Those are stable. 0.8.0 works fine for me.

Hi Pugsi,

This is 0.8.0 for sure. I used an earlier version when I had my autoBIPAP which worked well for it but it wouldn't work for the new system one BIPAP auto Advanced Servo. That is when I switched to the 0.8.0 which at least gives me the basic data fine. No graphs tho and no preferences available. Also no record of patient triggered events vs. machine initiated.

I am swimming in foreign waters with computer talk. It is not readily apparent to me where to get the latest version of .8.1 when it does get the kinks worked out. ChrisT

What you are describing with 0.8.0 is what I just now got with 0.8.1. No graphs, just ugly lines. Though it did give the pie thing correctly.
My .8.0 version works just fine. I tested it before I responded.

Jedimark says to give him a few days for Windows fix as he is re-doing the guts. He says not to try 8.1 at this time.
You can always toss everything and use 7.xxx version if your 8.0 version is buggy. This is what I would suggest.

Thanks Pugsi for the links!

Those will be most helpful!!

If my understanding is correct, the problem I am having is that the programs are not yet updated for my machine type completely. Evidently the system one BIPAP Auto Servo Advanced takes an extra amt. of fixes in the program for it to be completely compatible. Therefore I believe no previous versions would work.I know the version I had that worked on my previous system one BIPAP Auto did not work for this new machine.

My understanding is that there will be fixes in the near future and I believe that is part of what Mark is working on now. Heaven knows he is truly making a lot possible for all of us. Thanks to him and others here who are working to bring data to us so we can better evaluate the effectiveness of our treatment.

I will keep checking for updates over the next weeks. ChrisT

These problems could be machine-dependent, but it sounds like there may be a bug in both 0.8.0 and 0.8.1 that arises more or less randomly. Try deleting the SleepApp folder. It will be in your "my documents" folder.

0.8.1 works for me so far, except for needing to reimport data every time I run it. I don't have preferences either. Does anyone else? I was assuming that the preferences dialog hadn't been written yet.

Keep in mind that we're dealing with alphas here. Alpha testing is done on raw, unfinished versions of the software as it is developed. They're not really expected to work properly.

I will remove old SleepyHead APP folder and see if 8.1 will play nice.

No Preferences yet. It is on the to do list though.

I also think for being alpha it is surprisingly stable. Especially so until the addition of ASV stuff has made things a bit more buggy.

To ChrisT.....Sorry, I missed that you were using ASV machine and No, you can't use the older versions. Please check your PM box for an idea.

To ChrisT....

0.8.1 now works for me. I forgot to unzip the files and I think it tried to pull from the old APP folder.

So it should work with your ASV machine. Just remove the old stuff and start fresh.

Yes, alpha testing is often like watching that video compilation of pre-Wright aircraft -- so many wacky ways to crash.

I have a question about the read-out under "Details" on SleepyHead. Under Details is PB/CSR in a fluorescent green. The number is listed as say 0.44% Journal articles refer to this number in % such as 44%. Is it a redundancy that there is a % sign after listing it as 0.44 or is that mathematially truly 0.44 % which would be less then 1/2 of one %. ? Not sure if I said that clearly. Am I looking at 44% or 0.44% which would be stated in words as aprox. 4/10ths of one per cent. 44% vs 0.44%.
Could someone clarify that for me?

I plan to try the 8.1 today after all the comments here.

Thanks, ChrisT

0.44% is correct.. at 44% it's practically game over.. Half the CSR in Event Flags would be green :-/

!!

I am so glad the game isn't over!

I am making progress with the new machine. Centrals and obstructives are becoming negligible. Now if those darned residual hypopneas can be reduced.

ChrisT

I should have known anyone who can write this sort of software would not make a mistake on a % sign.... !!

Trust me.. I've made dumber mistakes than this.. There's a reason it's been crashing so much..

I'm making good progress with the core data subsystem rewrite.. The daily screen is working very well.. The new way graphs access data is making things so much easier for me.

I'm deliberately taking my time.. I want solid results.. I'm not going to add the other stuff back until I see evidence each component is rock solid.

Quick question - I downloaded SleepyHeadQT today, and got it up and running after a couple of crashes. (Deleted the saved directory). Now, when I try to open it again, it'll crash and burn.

Using SleepyHead-0.8-20110721-1.exe as a backup, but now that is crashing as well?

Any suggestions?

For the time being remove 0.8.1 and go get the latest 7.xxxx version unless you have ASV machine. It is much more stable. Jedimark is working on 8.1 and there will be a new and improved version. The crashes seem to be random but he is aware of them and working on it.
