I'm trying to figure out how you go to sleep with those bright colors. Is there an off switch?

Got rainout on level 2

I am actually color blind The neurologist thinks it is a recent thing, because it was only discovered when I temporarily lost my sight. I can see some colors, but yellows/greens and any shade of red/pink is lost on me. So the bedspread doesn't bother me.

You could try making another cover. Make it wider so it wraps the hose twice or just a bit wider(and maybe a bit longer) to leave more room between the hose and cover. Either of these ideas may help.

Jaylee,

I was also getting rainout starting at 2.0 using my thickly knitted hose cover. I have the ResMed H4i humidifier.

If your room is rather cool, what you may be experiencing is "mask rainout", from your warm breath hitting the cooler plastic on the mask. Not much you can do about that, since it doesn't look like your mask is one that can be insulated, other than try having the room warmer. Is the inside of the tubing damp, or is the condensation only in your mask?

Make sure that the hose is completely covered. I see that the tubing shows a bit in the photos. You may be able to stretch the cover lengthwise and secure it so there's no hose showing at all. I know that this doesn't apply to your mask, but some masks have a small tube. That would also need to be covered.

If you have an old sweatshirt around, you may want to cut off the sleeves and secure them over the crocheted hose cover, just to see if it makes any difference. Or wrap it in thick flannel or microfiber fabric if you have some of that. Of course, you don't want the hose to get too heavy.

One more thing is to look at how the tubing exits the humidifier and comes to the mask. If there is condensation inside the tubing, you may be able to position the hose so that any water will run back into the humidifier, or trap it along the way with a dip in the hose.

Yes I think you are right, it seems to be mainly inside my mask.

I might make a longer cover that can go around twice. This was my first try so I figure I will have to try a few things first to get a good fit.

I do keep my room very cold. I often wake up freezing. I will keep it warmer. It is hard to compensate for that.

Now that I think about it, I might just make one that is wider and sew it. This one would be too tight to slip on easily. I think that could be the easiest solution right there. Of course I can't sew, but it can't be that hard, I do live in my Mom's sewing room

I don't know of a pattern but a tube with ribbing at both ends like the leg of a sock should work. The only problem might be getting the cover to stay on the ends of the hose, I wouldn't want to use velcro like my snuggle hose cover has.
The cover that my wife made was using 4 needles and the patern for making the cuff for mittens with only 20 stiches, it was tight to pull over hose so could have been 22 stiches

Think you just inspired me to do the same thing for my hose. However, just use regular material so it will just look cool.
Current machine has left me with no rainout. btw, you did an outstanding job!

Please PM me how you linked photos.
