Encore Pro vs. Encore Viewer

Post by tonycog » Sun Oct 11, 2009 5:47 pm

Hi
Just curious as to what, if anything, I am missing out on. I have Encore Viewer. What does Pro offer that Viewer does not?

Thanks,
Tony

Near as I can tell the ability to use Skinners Analyzer program. Otherwise, I don't see anything much special in Pro that isn't in Viewer. I may have missed something but I didn't see any real difference. Reports and graphs are the same to me. Some ability to erase the card data is there but we can also do that with the little utility program.

EncorePro's "sleep" data is stored as tables in an SQL database and many PC programs provide easy access to SQL databases. I wrote my own charting program in Microsoft Excel that uses queries to access the EncorePro SQL database.

Would be interesting to see how you have written the program to access the SQL data; would you mind sharing it or part of it. Thanks.

Does Viewer accomodate multiple patients?
Can you change machine settings via the card?

The OSA patient died quietly in his sleep.
Unlike his passengers who died screaming as the car went over the cliff...

Yes, it does support multiple patients. No, you can not change machine settings on the card.

If you use encore pro and you write the settings to the card will this change the parameters of the machine or is more like a documentation for the current settings?

Go to your EP patient home page and click on Create Prescription. A screen identifying the Device Type and Serial Number will be displayed. Click on Next. A screen will be displayed asking "How should this device change / modification be performed". You have 2 choices: 1) Via Smartcard, or 2) For reference only. If you select Via Smartcard, the parameters that you specify with the following screens will be written to your smartcard. When you insert this smartcard into your machine, the machine will change its settings to the new RX ones that you specified.
