Lori,

There's a setting in the "Profile" that has this setting:

Always enable Smilies: Yes No

For those of you that can't see the smilies, check your profile and see if this setting is set to "Yes".
There's also another setting about "BBcode"....whatever that is.

I have been told my some that they can see them and others are seeing just red X's and links. I'm a confused. I also have a smiley by my "signature" at the bottom.

SO...would whoever reads this tell me what you see below, whether actually smileys or x's or what? Thanks.

I can see them fine and have a hefty firewall, hardware and software, which makes me think, as you mentioned earlier, that an internet security option is blocking third party links.

Grab,

You betcha!

Those who can't see the smilies, what browser (and version) are you using?
If you're using Internet Explorer, look in Tools/Internet Options/Advanced and see is your "multimedia" settings are checked (the only one on mine that is NOT checked is "Show image download placeholders".....the rest are checked.

For those who are interested in using the "other smilies" in their post open this page in another window: http://www.lickthewindow.com/cpapsmile/smile.htm

copy the Image next to the smilie you want and paste it into your post.

Grabraham,

I can see all of yours, but all I can see in Lori's are red x's. No problem here except when I saw the thread I thought my response to the question might help you with your survey and solve the mystery.

Now why can everyone see Grab's but some can't see mine? That I cannot understand! My first thought was it's my computer, but how could that be if others can see mine? I'm completely lost.

Grab, thanks for those adorable smileys. Hey, experiment time. I am going to paste some of Grab's smileys!!! Let me know if you can see those, all you who couldn't see my other ones. Maybe it has to do with the site I'm getting them from.
