Panic hormones released during apnea / desaturation events, not to mention the reality that you're on the verge of dying all night, cause many people with untreated OSA to experience anxiety and panic generally. Treat the OSA and the anxiety resolves for most people.
Try the Scented CPAP Mask with Pur-Sleep's CPAP Aromatherapy--CPAP Diffuser and Essential Oils.

Very common problem with sleep apnea. I know it well. Before cpap my blood-oxygen was in the 70s in the early morning hours and no doubt my body was loaded up with adrenalin. Waves of anxiety would roll through me.

The blood-ox level rebounded quickly upon arising but it would take some hours for my body to normalize the adrenaline level. I felt better in the afternoon than I did in the morning. Too bad my damn doctors were so ignorant about sleep apnea.

Sorry to hear about your difficulties! One note also: some people (I'm one of them) react to trazodone the opposite way that most people do. When I was given trazodone to help me sleep, I ended up awake and jittery all night. This is an uncommon but known effect. I have the same reaction to benadryl.
