I'm lucky I guess, my DW was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea and the first DME we chose played games for 2 1/2 weeks. She finally called them back, waited on hold for over 15 minutes and the person told her that they didn't know how to inform customers that they were closing at the end of December and were not accepting new patients. They knew when she originally contacted them. They then wanted to refer her to a company that is over a hour away. Fortunately, we had found a DME that was less than 15 minutes from hom. She called on a Thursday and had all information faxed to the new company. She was told to call Monday if she didn't hear the next day (Friday). She called Monday, all information was given to a RT and they would contact her soon. Next day (Tuesday) she received a call set an appointment for the next day. She was offered a choice between a PR Dreamstation auto or ResMed AirSense 10 Auto. As the RT was about to set up the machine she saw my wife needed a bipap. They only stock the Dreamstation auto bipap, that's what she got. No bricks, a PR machine which is fine as we live in the greater Pittsburgh area which is PR headquarters. The insurance pays for it, it's a top of the line machine which is all they stock, and they're owned by two different hospital health networks and a health insurance company (not the same as our insurance) company. Wild?
