Upgrading Rented Machine Advice Needed

Hi, I am interested in upgrading my Resmed VPAP Adapt SV to a S9 VPAP Adapt. I got the existing machine in March 2011. I called my DME today. They asked what insurance I have and told me my insurance company will only pay for a new machine every 5 years. I looked at my insurance provider's website. ...

Re: Which S9 Is "Upgrade" For VPAP Adapt SV?

The current ASV in the s9 series is the "S9 VPAP Adapt" the adapt sv is a prior ASV version - do you mean the auto VPAP? The VPAP Autoset is the auto-VPAP - it's a bi-level that changes pressure, but NOT an ASV. Very different machines. Thank you!! I wrote my message because I had a nagging feeling...

Which S9 Is "Upgrade" For VPAP Adapt SV?

Which S9 is "upgrade" for VPAP Adapt SV?

I think from reading it is the S9 VPAP Autoset. Is that right?

I plan to request an S9 from my DME, and want to make sure I ask for the right one.

Thanks!

Re: Billing issue

tricare prime does it 2 ways. they normally do a 13 month rental, after which it becomes yours. they also allow dme's to do a lump sum billing where you and they make one 80-20 payment. did you make 13 payments under your contract with tricare? if you did, it should be yours. if you didn't, it didn...

Re: FlexiFit HC431 Full Face Mask "OK" with Resmed Adapt SV??

Yeah, I learned this flexifit mask is not good on resumed adapt sv machine. At the sleep center, we tried it on my machine, "circuit failed". We tried a mirage quattro on my adapt sv: circuit learned successfully. We tried the flexifit on another resumed; 'circuit faild' Meanwhile, the Dr, the DME, ...

Re: Low AHI but I don't feel rested

I had an AHI OF 3.6 the other night.nice thing was AI: 0.0!! So, no. Apnea events at all, all hypopnea. I didn't feel especially wonderful, but the numbers were promising. Next night, back to 3.6 AI per hour. Still low compared to my sleep study. I'm hoping for those real low AI mums all the time!

Re: Tonites the first nite with new stuff

I hope it goes great, Jeff!

I'm pretty new to this myself. My very first night was in February. I got what seems to be the right mask for my machine just a few weeks ago, and it seems to be going pretty well since then. Hopefully that is right where you are, beginning tonight!

Best,
John

Re: Wrong mask won't "learn circuit" on resmed vpap auto?

Turns out the Resmed Adapt SV "learns circuit successfully" just fine and dandy with Resmed's mirage quattro mask. My DME spoke with her Resmed rep who said the F&PFlexifit should be fine. The RT and PA at my Dr's office said the same. My Dr even said it shouldn't matter. Doc sent me to the sleep la...

Re: This would only make sense to DME/insurance companies....

I really appreciate this thread. I have been so focused on the new machine, its issues, and related issues with the DME that I have hardly thought about this topic, which I will certainly be dealing with in the future. I had not yet learned about DMEs at all until after my doctor's staff had chosen ...

Re: Central Apneas and Respiratory Rate

I just recently got access to the detailed data from my Resmed VPAP Adapt AutoSV and I was wondering just this sort of thing. As far as I can tell, none of the graphs indicate that I am not breathing at the time of a recorded apnea. I will be looking at it more tonight and tomorrow night (in prepara...

Re: Clonazepam/Sleep Meds & Apnea: Extent of Causal Link

My sleep doctor recommended ambien during the sleep study. In his words, "Ambien does not affect breathing at all" My diagnosis is "Primary (Idiopathic) Central Sleep Apnea" (CSA) Meaning, there is no other primary cause such as heart disease or altitude for the Central Apnea, and there has been no ...

Re: Wrong mask won't "learn circuit" on resumed vpap auto?

Just got home after long day of work and music rehearsal. Put the aforementioned valve and mask on the main hose, checked each end of the smaller tube, ran "Learn Circuit" and, voila, "success" the very first time! Weird, but I'll take it! The LPN from the DME (my main contact there) said she thinks ...
