Re: OSAS and anxiety/panic disorder?

I have found CPAP therapy helpful--it has reduced my panic attacks and "mind racing a mile a minute" stress quite a bit. I feel calmer overall. I felt better after the first month of treatment--now it seems to be coming back a bit despite really good numbers, and I don't know why, but it's not as ba...

Re: I put MY fitlife mask on my husband yesterday...

Elena, Did you remember to change mask settings when you put it on your husband? I think that the Resmed is really sensitive to that--you need to have it on the right setting to get correct readings (don't have a Resmed, that's just what I've heard). So maybe it was showing you his AHI, but it may o...

Re: Newbie 1st. night

Congrats on your first night! There definitely is a learning curve, but you did well. There is a dial on the front of your Quattro mask attached to the forehead piece. BEFORE you put it on, check the number on the dial. That's where your clinician set it--you can go back to that setting if you need ...

Wipes are convenient, but you do need to be sure they don't contain ingredients that will hurt your silicone seals or your lungs. A lot of people buy the wipes sold by CPAP suppliers, some swear by alcohol-free baby wipes. I'm sensitive to fragrances, too, and I can't quite contemplate using any typ...

Re: Nocturia Increases Mortality Risk

Since they thought it was such a mystery that I only had to go only at night, and did not have an infection, they were going to send meto a urologist.. but I had the sleep study before that appt.. I wonder how many urologists diagnose nocturia and write up consults for sleep studies? Interesting po...

Re: crummy little filter on the S9 autoset

I change the white filter on my PR S1 every 15 days, and I wash the grey filter weekly. The grey filter never seems dirty, but by the end of 15 days the white filter is dirty and clearly ready to be changed. My room is pretty dusty, I hate to admit and up until this week our forced air central heati...

Re: How do you put an O Ring on LT pillow?

Araminta, You do have to be a little rough to squeeze and pinch the nostril part of the nasal pillow to get it in the O-ring. It's a bit fiddly, but not terribly difficult. Are you using the correct size of O-ring? The diameter of the ring should be roughly equal to the diameter of the neck of the ...

Re: No mask last nigt

You don't state what the results of your sleep study were as to severity of sleep apnea, that might make a difference. Some people with mild apnea can make simple changes (weight loss, sleep position, oral appliance) and do fine without CPAP. In any case it's unlikely you will die in your sleep imme...

Re: Apnea, lap-band surgery and my big mouth!

Thank you so much for your apology. I know that's hard. We all would love that miracle cure that would free us from CPAP forever. But SA is a complex issue, and SA sufferers often have more than one cause for their condition. Solving one problem can certainly help, but it's only a cure for the few p...

I just washed my mask and I can't do a thing with it!

I wash my nasal pillows every day, but I only wash the "cradle" and little tube on the Swift LT for Her weekly. When I take the headgear off and then put it back on, the first night is like a "bad hair" night (I just washed my mask and I can't do a thing with it!). It takes a lot of work to readjust...

Re: S9 vs PR System One

The PR S1 is dead silent with the humidifier running. I used one for about a month without a humidifier and that was NOISY. But I cannot tell the machine is on from the machine itself. However, the S9 claims to dampen the conducted noise as well. I've never tried the S9 so I cannot speak to that, bu...

Re: Data Newbie needs help

Thanks, Katie.

With that tutorial I figured out how to put just small portions in. I noticed some data got cut off on the right margin my way. Maybe this will be better????

Re: Data Newbie needs help

OK, so I figured it out, sort of. I'm not sure how clear it will be this way (PDF uploaded to FLICKR): http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4042/4655184056_f7f8a5d0e3_b.jpg I’ve posted before that despite low AHI’s (all below 1.0) and fairly low average pressures (11 to 12 cm), I am waking at least once m...

Data Newbie needs help

I got the software to look at my data for the first time ever today, and I have many questions. This post will be part of a series as my first question is how the heck do you post the data???? I have it in PDF form, but not sure how to post any of it, and how to post just one page, not the TWELVE pa...

Re: 3 Days and still tired!!!

3 days is a little bit of time in the scheme of things. Some lucky people feel better immediately, but most of us do not. It takes time, sometimes months, and there may be underlying issues that contribute to your fatigue that the CPAP just can't help. But you have to give it a good chance first! So...
