Re: Managing OSA and IH
I think I see why you're being careful -- raising pressure support rather than minimum pressure, you want to be sure you're not provoking CAs, right? And everyone's "apneic threshold" is different. CAs are notoriously variable; your CA index can be 0 one night and 2 the next. My own rule of thumb is...

Re: A CRY FOR HELP, Is this only sleep apnea
Good job on the chart, Barebones. I'm not sure whether you are using the ramp feature; if you are, do you think you'd miss it if you turned it off? If you're willing to experiment, give it a try. What jumps out to me is that you are having a lot of obstructive apneas, with a total AHI on CPAP almost...

Re: CPAP causing Daytime Anxiety
Welcome! I haven't had this experience, but I wonder whether you could say a little more about how things are going for you. Are you pretty comfortable with the CPAP therapy at this point? How are you sleeping these days? What is your AHI? Are you feeling more rested during the day (along with feeli...

Re: New APAP user. High central apneas.....Canada user
With EERS, you block the original vents but add tubing plus a vent: EERS is accomplished by blocking the mask exhaust vents using Mack's Silicone Putty (earplugs), and adding a length of tubing to the mask that terminates in a mask exhaust vent. For safety purposes, an antiasphyxiation/safety valve ...

Not pushing this idea at all -- maybe the same one Pugsy mentioned -- but I wanted you to know about it. It's called enhanced expiratory rebreathing space (EERS). More information here: http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php/Enhanced_Expiratory_Rebreathing_Space_(EERS) And scientific information h...

Re: Stressed out, do I have sleep apnea?
It sounds like you're getting an attentive approach from your doctor, which is good. I hope the sleep test will indeed be scheduled soon. With ANA coming back positive, it might be worth following up with a broader panel focused on a wide range of connective tissue disease. More information here: ht...

Re: Have you had a COVID-19 Vaccine or have an appt?
I lucked into Moderna vaccination through my employer, which is a quasi-State institution in California. I just landed an appointment for my husband through our county public health agency. He’s 76, which for once is a great advantage. Kaiser hasn’t had supplies. Supply and distribution in CA aren’t...

Re: Stressed out, do I have sleep apnea?
I’m glad you have a sleep study scheduled. When will it be? What part of your body will be scanned? If your sleep study is weeks away, you might consider getting a recording oximeter just to see what’s happening with your O2 sats during the night. That could provide some useful information for both ...

Re: Mask leakage, snoring, and now phlegm...argh!
Thanks for your concern, and I’m sorry to hear about its effects on you. I haven’t had any side effects at all. I recently tried discontinuing Singular, only to find that my drip worsened. So for me, it’s a clear plus. As with all drugs, though, susceptibility to side-effects will surely vary from p...

I'm late to the party here, and you may already have had your appointment. But I did want to second Zonker by saying that the ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset (or the For Her version) is an excellent machine. About the postnasal drip and phlegm. That may be what is responsible for your very active flow li...

Re: CPAP User of 4.5 months, needing help with this dang sleep stuff
I’m really sorry about the job and really mad at your sleep doctor. Please try the change that Zonker suggested and then post another daily chart. The particular chart you posted showed only six and a half hours of usage. Maybe that’s atypical, but you might double-check the data on the summary page...

I just looked closely at your avatar, loggerhead, and I love it! I'm going to have to make one of those for my own amusement.

How old is your machine? Any other signs of malfunction (funny noises, e.g.)?
I wonder whether you had been having a small leak all along. Do you use Oscar? I ask because it would give you a definitive answer to that question.
