Re: Nuance Gel vs Dream wear Gel

Okay. So, now, I'm rethinking this. I suppose I'll have to just try it. I've never changed gear though. I'm with the same thing I picked out when I first started. Do they let me try one? Do I pay out of pocket? Not sure about that. I have BCBS of NC.

Re: Arousals

This is a bit embarrassing but that's the beauty of the Internet, I can share embarrassing, personal items and could bump into you tomorrow and neither of us would know any different. I've been using CPAP for couple weeks now and things have been going pretty good. The first couple days were kind o...

Re: Nuance Gel vs Dream wear Gel

Have you tried the Dream Wear gel headgear? I'm curious. I've been tending to have my Nuance gel pillows too tight lately and I"m not sure why. I am considering another type. I don't have leak problem though. I have tried both. I have virtually no leaks with the Nuance gel pillows. Leaks on and off...

Re: I just had to get this out of my own head

I can only speak for myself, but, after I changed my eating to a more healthy plan, lost weight and got my blood sugars in good control (I'm Type I diabetic), and was on CPAP treatment for about 12 months, I felt SO MUCH better. My memory, focus and energy level returned and I was able to do things ...

Re: "My Pillow"

I felt like I really dodged a bullet when I actually picked up a My Pillow in a store. OMG. I would have been furious if I had paid money for something that felt like that. I would think it could be easily replicated with peanut packing material in a pillow case. It was substandard on so many levels...

Re: CPAP therapy for the elderly

OH MY! I logged in here to find out about my dad's recent prescription for a home sleep study, to see this thread! How appropriate. I'd like to the know the same thing. My dad is having second thoughts about having the test done. I have encouraged him to do it. I've been on treatment for about 2 yea...

Re: Anyone have experience using liners?

I really would like to get some strap covers to prevent the dent on my cheeks, but, I don't see any that work with my device. I have a Philips headgear and a Nuance Progel frame. The gel part seems pretty worthless, but, I've been told that I have to use it since I use the Gel nasal pillows. I like...

Re: Nasal pillow masks effect on your nose

Three years using nasal pillows every night and there is no noticeable effect on my nose. http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u238/roostershooster/pig.jpg This cracked me up! Thanks. I needed a laugh today. When I read the question, I went to examine my nose and I do think my nostrils are larger. I ...

Re: Therapy while sleeping or awake

I don't just wear mine for the fun of it, but, apparently some people do. lol Seriously, my BCBS insurance material addressing cpap coverage WARNS that the insured shall not wear the device while reading, lounging, or for any activity except sleep. They sound pretty ominous about it too. I wondered,...

Re: Resmed My Air

I think the data is held by ResMed, not the DME. The DME has access to the data and your Sleep Dr. does if he has paid the access fee to ResMed. The DME can also forward the data to the Sleep Dr. It would be nice to be able to access the online data, but it is not quite as detailed as the data from...

Re: How often do I really need to clean tube and water chamber?

Oh my....I've never thought about a bug crawling into my hose! I'll have to start covering it, but, actually, I doubt a sock would prevent s spider from crawling inside if they really wanted to. I'll try not to think about that. Since carrying distilled water is not convenient for traveling, I gener...

Re: How long did it take you to get used to cpap?

I was able to sleep with mine quite well from night one. I did have a little soreness on my nose from nasal pillow, but, got that worked out. Later, the headstrap woke me as it crept up the back of my head, but, a brilliant poster around here, suggested that I put my long hair through, so it falls o...
