Re: Dreamwear for dry-eyes patients

Such a mask needs to be invented.
Years ago!
Damn it.

Edit: I mean a cpap mask for sufferers of dry eye. (Heck, I'd buy one!)

Epworth Sleepiness Score?
. . .
You can find this quiz online; or your doctor might have hard copies.
It can't hurt to ask.

Look at your averages over the last month, and you will see your sleep time looking realistic.
That is the usage amount your provider will see.
Each early afternoon and the following morning will count as one "night".
Weird, but it adds up.

Re: Nasal Irrigation

Brain eating amoeba, (or Naegleria fowleri,) is the nasty thing.
Your nasal passages come very close to your brain--so be careful what goes up there.

Re: Nasal Irrigation

If it is too difficult pouring saline into your nose, try a spray, followed by a snort.
Ocean brand is effective, and already sterile.
Way less solution, but a little could be enough.
Home made solution should only be made with sterile water and salts.

Decongestants are not always the answer.
Try an antihistamine first.
Not as nasty--and might do the trick.

Re: nasal congestion question

Are you taking anything for allergies? My congestion improved vastly after being diagnosed with allergic rhinitis, and taking a nightly OTC antihistamine. It first came with a decongestant, but I realized I only need the antihistamine. My doctor recommended it after I complained about frequent cases...

Re: Accidentally erasing stored data on CPAP machine

I can totally change the time on my Airsense 10; But I choose not to. DST is stupid. Once I retired, I no longer have to play that damn game. What game is that? I'm retired too but I still like to know what the correct time is once in a while. I have clocks for that--on the wall, nightstand, microw...

Re: When to end CPAP

The AHI reported by the cpap is TREATED.
The low numbers only mean your cpap is effective.
I can see fine with my glasses--but can't see crap without them.
Same thing.

I think a troll, who doesn't have honest intentions, has come on board.
Maybe not a troll but, clearly someone that doesn't know much about CPAP
Very likely to be interested in selling something ridiculous.

The machine will give you a red frowny face if your leaks exceed 24 L/min for 70% of the time or more.
It's 30% or more of the time above 24L/min.
Total leaks or excess leaks?

Re: Semi-OT reminder: Never leave melatonin out for the visiting grandkids to get to.

We had neighbors who lost a toddler, due to finding his mother's iron supplement. This was in the early 60's. Almost anything can be deadly. Kids are very clever at getting things open. "Child-safe" containers are little more than a challenge to a bored child. Lock and key is better; at least until ...
