Re: Low daytime SPO2 and fatigue

The concentrator doesn’t need to be in your bedroom.

You can get long tubing and place it in another room.

Re: ASV side effects

Actual CAs emerge out of the blue. Your brain stops telling you to take a breath.

The CAs in the AutoSet night had irregular breathing or OAs (and the resulting irregular breathing when you woke) right before them.

So they’re false positives.

Re: Help Reading OSCAR Report

The value you’re looking for in OSCAR is Clear Airway (CA)
1.03 for this particular sleep session.

Re: Inquiring minds

I had my initial HST done by a CPAP vendor. Confirmed the condition in an hospital sleep lab. FWIW the AHI results from the CPAP seller was twice that from the sleep lab (58 vs 29) I wasn’t a borderline case, but I’d be inclined to believe the vendor would had shaded the results to sell the equipmen...

something about doctors wanting a person to not use CPAP before a test. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25487311/ There is also this thread https://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t184245/Cease-CPAP-Use-Two-Weeks-before-Sleep-Study.html?hilit=residual&start=60#p1410493 with reference to this article htt...

Re: Puffing cheeks tape blows off causing leaks

What works for me: 1. fold the 2 inch MediPore in half 2. wet my lips 3. pucker up 4. then attach the tape This way the tape is not stretched tight against my mouth. There is some natural give. I heard someone mention maybe a headband elastic around the back of my head over my mouth with the tape an...

Re: Please help me find a mask/solution that I can tolerate

You might want to test out the SleepWeaver cloth masks. They apply little pressure on the nose. I have used both the Elan and the 3D. I initially preferred the 3D because it felt more comfortable and seemed to seal better. But it whistles loudly whenever there's a large leak. Now I mostly use the El...

At least I might get some software updates with that model.
Don't hold your breath as there been only one OTA update in the history of ResMed AirSense/AirSense line.

Re: OSCAR 1.4.0 Released - June 17, 2022

Hello, I'm a new user of airsense 11 from Taiwan, I wanted to download the OSCAR 1.4.0, but it shows 403 Forbidden. Late reply but wanted to give options for others that may be in the similar pickle. I am guessing that you were trying to download using Chunghwa Telecom (中華電信.) It is on numerous bla...

Re: Wedge pillow, sliding down

You could try sewing up a poor man's adjustable bed. 1. Take a bed sheet and fold over one end to form a pocket 2. Sewing ensues 3. Insert pillows into the pocket 4. Place the contraption on the bed and adjust so the pillows is between the knee and the buttocks 5. Tuck the other end under the wedge ...

Re: SleepImage ring - Is it accurate?

please note that the quote above "clinical evaluation has confirmed" which sounds good. however, they don't seem to show that clinical evaluation. weasel words, in my opinion. best to google and find a site that isn't the site selling you a product. just my opinion. Sorry. I should had provided the...

Re: Thinking of trying Bleep - should I try old or new Eclipse?

Just curious as to whether you have tried or considered the cloth SleepWeaver 3D mask.

https://www.cpap.com/productpage/circad ... -cpap-mask

The headgear feels confining but the mask itself is very light on the skin. I use it whenever my nares are irritated by pillow masks.

I don't see any claims on the CPAP.com site or sleepmedrx about studies validating their technology.
The test they sell is one of the Octosense NightOwl tests. It has been FDA cleared.

The validation study is below

Re: Wellvue O2-ring privacy concern

You're more likely to leak personal info via your phone than via your PC since your phone is always connected. The big connector is likely an UART (Universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter) because the o2ring is likely a serial device. Some versions of android prior to version 12 required locatio...
