Re: How Long Are Mask Cushions Expected To Last?
I do have a beard and wonder if that helps wear the cushions out faster? It’s not a real bushy or thick one, I prefer to keep it trimmed pretty short normally but it is more abrasive than a clean shaven face I would imagine.

How Long Are Mask Cushions Expected To Last?
Mask is a ResMed F30 full face and has been working pretty well but in the past week or so I’ve been suddenly getting spiking AHI numbers, going from 1-3 to above 7 and lots of rainout in the mask. Waking up with it full of condensation and feeling like it’s not working like before. I realize I am a...

Re: Don’t have to stick with the same manufacturer, do I
I’ve used both the ResMed F20 and F30 with the Philips DreamStation machine, they both work just fine. The connector hose cuff that couples the ResMed mask elbow to the Philips hose is universal.

Re: Possible Serious Dreamstation Problems ??
I was able to pull this from the Philips earnings report call transcript from last week regarding this. Sounds like it’s these ozone cleaners that are the real culprit: “…On the regulatory matters, regretfully, we have identified possible risks related to the sound abatement foam used in certain sle...

hey are getting it back the way it came but I’m no longer reporting anything to them via the modem, I figure that may get their attention before I have to make 5 more calls to them speaking with a new clueless person each time. When you unplugged the unit from the wall, it quit sending out data. Yo...

Returning A DME’s CPAP Machine: Proper Way To Do This?
This is another topic in my ongoing saga of dealing with an incompetent, non-responsive DME. Starting February 1, 2021 I paid around $300 upfront for a Philips DreamStation and now pay $46 a month on a rental type arrangement with them. I’m now 3 payments in but have decided to fire them and return ...

Re: Mask leaking
Make sure your mask isn’t TOO tight. Too tight also can create leaks worse than if it’s too loose. I have the ResMed F30 which is almost identical to the Amara View and I was getting small leaks here and there and realized I had it cranked too tight on my face. Adjusted slightly and they went away.

Re: Semi-permanently disabling modem in ResMed Airsense 10
My Philips DreamStation has a removable cellular modem which I guess would make it easy for the tinfoil hat crowd but I don’t have an issue with it “phoning home”.
If you have a smartphone, it’s already sending out your location and all sorts of other data to various apps you use.

Re: Philips DreamStation Making Sighing/Wheezing Noise When I Exhale
Update: I went into settings for A-Flex (EPR) and dialed it down from 3 to 2 (settings are 0-3) and it seemed to go away. Not sure why it would become an issue only in the past 10-12 days as I set that to 3 in early February after I was finding it a little hard to exhale against the pressure.

Re: Current FF mask recommendations for small face and small nose
I’d go to CPAP.com and try this based on your situation and how you stated you liked the ResMed F30i (I tried both myself and they are both the same style):
Philips Respironics DreamWear Full Face Mask
With SMALL frame
With SMALL cushion

Philips DreamStation Making Sighing/Wheezing Noise When I Exhale
What could be going on here? My DreamStation CPAP machine has been waking me up every early morning like 4-5 am with a very noticeable and kind of loud wheezing or sighing noise each time I exhale. It’s definitely coming out of the machine and not the mask or hose. It’s almost like when it gets to a...

Re: New CPAP User With Question: Can I “Fire” My Equipment Supplier?
I basically ghosted my first two local DMEs, going elsewhere for what I needed (cpap.com). That’s what I plan to do here. I’m finding that eBay, Amazon and CPAP.com will work for my supplies and I won’t be giving this garbage DME who can’t provide even the minimum level of competent customer servic...

Re: Experiences with AirTouch Memory Foam mask review
I really wanted to like the AirTouch F20 memory foam mask, but it totally did not work for me. The way it goes way up between my eyes was uncomfortable and awkward to me and made me feel like I was back in the military and wearing a gas mask. Also was not thrilled about the alleged good-for-only-30-...
