after reading about this pillow on this message board, I bought one and tried it for the first time last night. And it was great. I felt that it was too flat at first and put another pillow under it but then went back to just the cpap pillow. Previously, I was using a thermoelastic foam pillow and e...

Sleepyceebee- do a search in the forum for aerophagia. I went to a hybrid mask which is a type of full face mask. Your mouth is covered. But then I was still swallowing air. I ended up with a bipap machine which has reduced the aerophagia problem down to manageable levels. Be aware that if you aerop...

My story is that I had insomnia for years and was getting desperate for sleep. Every morning I felt sick and I felt tired all the time. I tried everything for insomnia. Finally I was reading "The Promise of Sleep" by Dr. William Dement and I read about all kinds of sleep problems including apnea. Th...

I have worried about this too. I don't have wrinkles yet but do have some loss of tone in my lower face (at 62). I think the PadACheeks help with the wrinkling issue. But the weight/pressure of the hybrid cushion pressed up on lower face isn't exactly helping increase the tone in my face. It's dragg...

airport bins for cpap
yes. I've been on several trips lately (SF to Hawaii and SF to Florida) and most have required me to pull my machine out and put it into a separate bin. I didn't think about the shoe issue (yuck!), but the only part of my machine that is coming in contact with the bin is the feet on the bottom of th...

I was leaking air from my mouth which caused me to have high AHI numbers. A full-face mask (including the hybrid) will cure this. I got the hybrid specifically for this reason and... it has worked extremely well for me. My mouth is covered up and air can leak out of it and I don't lose therapeutic p...

Jabberwock- I've been using the hybrid since it first came out last summer and I've been very happy with it. It took some fiddling but I've got all the adjustments figured out so that it works for me. I routinely have AHI's around or lower than 2. About the "damp/sweaty chin flap": I have not cut of...

CPAP as "Art"
Just a little humorous CPAP story.... I somehow lost one of the nasal pillows for my hybrid. I looked all over for the house and couldn't find it. The next time my housecleaner came by, I asked him if he had seen it. I just about died laughing when I found out: 1) that he had indeed found it when he...

............. It's helped my balance and flexibility and has made me strong. I can now bend over with straight legs and put my palms flat on the floor. I also can do headstands and just started doing handstands. Not bad for a soon to be 62 year old! ............. Maryb I am totally impressed! That ...

Rooster- my classes are 1.5 hours long each and my morning practice is about 20 minutes. I also take yoga workshops every month or so and these are about 3 hours long. And I've gone on yoga retreats for ~ 3days that have 2 hours of yoga in the morning, 2 hours in the afternoon and 1 hour in the even...

I walk 1.5 miles most days and do a 3 mile hike on weekends. And I have a yoga practice. I am a fanatic and have been practicing for 6 years now. I take two classes a week and practice every single morning. It's helped my back--I rarely have back trouble anymore. It's helped my balance and flexibili...
