Re: AFIB and Sleep Apnea - linkage?

My doc told me to do a sleep study after I went into AFib while knocked out for cataract surgery. I haven't had AFib again, and likely I won't again due to using my pap machine. There is definitely a correlation.

Re: first night with Bleep

Onward, on me the bleep parts stick outward too, but when I attach them to the hose part they go in just fine.

Re: Bleep tape

Happy update! Last night I put on just one layer of the Milk of Magnesia, and the tape still did not hurt upon removal. Yay!

Re: Bleep tape

Onward, I put Milk of Magnesia on my face last night, let it dry then put some more on, let it dry then applied the Hypafix tape (the one that hurt my skin the most). I scored 0.00 on leaks and the tape came off with no pain! I'm so happy! It should work very well for your intended use, with or with...

Re: first night with Bleep

I too use and love the bleep. I do find that having the hose lifted up does take weight off of the nose. I use the exact combination of equipment that Stuart uses, and it works very well. Like Miss Emerita, I tried the eclipse but went back to the original. Like you, I have a narrow nose, and the ha...

Re: Curious...How many of you are running APAP vs. Constant Pressure?

I use the apap setting. I have lowered the high-pressure setting to just a little above the highest I have ever gone, and have changed the pressures when I felt that I needed to. I like having a range of pressure, as my air needs change throughout the night. This has worked great for me.

Re: Can't sleep long with CPAP

If it were me I would change the setting to something better anyway. The rental company can easily change it back when you return it. If you sign up for OSCAR, then you can send us OSCAR reports and we can better advise you as to what settings will be better for you. Others can explain better than m...

Re: Bleep tape

I wrote to Stuart asking if I could buy mouth tape made by the same people who make the bleep tape, as lots of the other tapes that work hurt too much during removal for me to use. He wrote back that no one makes that same tape as mouth tape, but suggested that I try Hypafix tape or Cover Roll tape ...

Re: Denture Adhesive Strips v. Mouth Tape

Well, I GIVE UP!! I tried Poligrip Strips numerous times, Seabond paper things (just awful), and Fixodent Cream. The cream held better than the others, but it was a bear to remove, not painful, just goopy and unwilling to be removed. Yuck. During my experiments, I used my old favorite, Medvance 2-i...

For sleep, I used to take it after Dinner. That seemed to help me sleep better.

Re: Denture Adhesive Strips v. Mouth Tape

The Poligrip strips don't go in as well as I would like. Because they are straight and my mouth is not, I always end up with a not-obvious space that lets a lot of air leak out. I'm going to try a couple of different brands that are curved already, then cut them to fit me snugly. I'm hopeful that th...

Re: Denture Adhesive Strips v. Mouth Tape

Quote from Gfox - "Hypafix is apparently used where flexibility is needed, whereas cover-roll is less flexible. Not sure if that makes a difference after all."

Yeah, the stretch v. non-stretch is there, but my guess is that they use the same glue on both. And that glue is a no-go for me.
