Re: One week on CPAP, would appreciate some input regarding my stats

The machine (when in auto adjusting pressure mode) will try to kill the FLs with more pressure because FLs are one of the things it responds to in an effort to prevent collapses of the airway. The machine will also increase the pressure in response to snores as well as OAs and hyponeas. Fls and snor...

Re: One week on CPAP, would appreciate some input regarding my stats

Well you may not remember waking during the night but your flow rate (breathing) says you had a lot of arousals during the night. The bulk of your flagged events (especially the centrals/CAs) have evidence of big gulps of air preceding the flagged event which means you weren't sound asleep. We don't...

Re: One week on CPAP, would appreciate some input regarding my stats

Do you remember waking several times during the night?

Are you having any nasal congestion at night?

Do you take any medications of any kind? If so, what?

Re: Help with my SleepHQ data

So how is your overall sleep quality? Sleeping soundly for the most part or waking often during the night? Do you take any medications of any kind? If so, what? The bulk of those centrals are awake/arousal related so they are a symptom of poor sleep rather than the cause of the poor sleep. You have ...

Re: making adjustments

Side note and a heads up. That steroid injection can also mess with your sleep (if/when you finally get to sleep) in some way or other for days and days. I have had several of those injections over the years and it sure seemed like when I had a little side effect it seemed to hang around plus my alr...

Re: making adjustments

OK, so for real, how much leakage is typical and nothing to be concerned about? 1.....ANY leak (no matter how big or how small or how prolonged) is unwanted IF IT DISTURBS SOMEONE's sleep. Now for myself...I seem to sleep through most leaks (big and small) so I don't really worry about leaks until ...

Re: making adjustments

Are the leaks interfering with my therapy? My machine always says, "Your mask fit was great last night." So maybe it thinks a few leaks are normal? ResMed machines will show Mr Smiley for leak management until time in large leak territory amounts to 30% or more of the night. So yes...the machine th...

Re: Living abroad part-time

Actually these are the Medicare compliance requirements. 1...must have a face to face evaluation sometime between meeting the compliance usage requirement and 90 days after getting the machine. 2...Medicare wants a 30 day consecutive night period, within that first 90 days, where you use the machine...

Re: Are any of these events real?

I don't think that you were sound asleep when any of those 3 zoomed in on flagged events got scored. Awake breathing is very irregular when compared to asleep breathing but the machine only measures air flow/breathing so it can and will flag that irregular breathing as some sort of apnea event. The ...

Re: Help with Oscar

I don't have any explanation for those arousals you mention. Are they dangerous to my health? What can I do about them? Well, if you feel like you sleep soundly and you feel quite decent during the day then I wouldn't worry about them. I mentioned them mainly because you seem concerned about the AH...

Re: Help with Oscar

Ozij is away from her computer this weekend doing fun family stuff and she asked me to keep an eye on you if you posted. She will catch up in a couple or 3 days. First of all...the AHI varying each night....that's entirely normal. We expect to see variations because we don't sleep the same each nigh...

Re: Sanity check

the mask is the Airfit P10, I went on cpap.com, sorted by most reviews and went with that one. It's fairly comfortable, except last night I wore it upside down (seriously, who designs a sleep apnea mask with no tactile indication of which way is the right side up... There is another way to know whi...

Re: S11 vs S10

thanks for the quick reply. have you ever thought about working for one of these companies? i can't imagine a more qualified person! No. I have zero desire to work for any of them. I lost all confidence in Respironics with the recall and I don't really like ResMed's business practices but they do m...

Re: S11 vs S10

I don't see any other major benefit to me of the S11, am i missing something? Not that I can see since you don't need or want the for Her mode that is available on the AirSense 11 models. Any thoughts on the difference between S10/S11 and which one I should get? You will likely get wide range of op...

As expected....nothing of great excitement showing up on those reports. Nothing just screams out "this cause a wake up". When you have time take a look here and review the graphs and format of the reports that we like to see. http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t158560/How-to-post-images-for-review.ht...
