Re: The best way to drive a weed up insurance's ass with CPAP
he fact that you can get oxygen from something plugged into the wall has always confused me, how could that be better to breathe but I am sure there is a reason. I could go into an overview, if you like... You would just be wasting your expertise! I still wouldn't get it! Thanks for the offer thoug...

For some reason I am surprised you have not figured out how to make your own! I know the theory, compressor, nitrogen absorber, air valves, control circuit to switch between the two nitrogen absorber tanks... getting the raw materials in small enough quantities at affordable prices would be a chall...

Many come from non Western cultures where they are basically pushed into medicine because of family pressures. In many non Western cultures, especially cultures whe...

Re: First Sleepyhead Post
Ah well. I had a bad night, but my stats are misleading. I was actually awake until midnight or so, all the events around 11:30 were me trying to adjust the mask, seal my mouth, etc. The mouth sealing did not work so well after all and what finally woke me up was air rushing through my desert-dry m...

Re: New Airsense 10 CPAP
If you have not yet received the machine see if you can't get the doctor or DME to change it to the Airsense Autoset 10 an APAP machine so that you can use a range of pressures if you want to instead of one set pressure which is all you can use with straight CPAP. Most people like their Resmed Airse...

Re: Urgent help before appointment in the morning please!
I would be honest with the doctor as you want to be sure she prescribes an APAP machine versus a CPAP machine. Have you been using the Sleepyhead software? If so print out the data so you can take it with you and show how well you have been doing with managing your own care and explain to her that y...

Re: miss Pugsy
The "concern trolls" have been effective in dumbing down the forum. I don't understand this? I don't understand this either. I think I am missing something. Well, I think the lack of understanding makes the original "concern" about the dumbed down direction of the forum true? It also means Black Sp...

Re: Especially for newly diagnosed - Dealing with Change
I found out today I have severe sleep apnea and will have to go on the machine for the rest of my life. Actually reading through the forum made me feel a little worse. I am sleep walking through life, can't hold a job, suffering from PTSD from a shooting I was injured in 2 years ago. I am never res...

Re: First Sleepyhead Post
Thank you Thank you Thank you! I'm going to raise my pressure to 8-14 now, and go up to 16 tomorrow, probably. I'll go over the Imgur settings before I post another screenshot, too. I tried a few masks and settled on the Amara View hybrid. I'm not a mouthbreather, but the pressured air leaks out my...

Re: How do you try another mask? (while keeping the first)
I imagine it depends on your DME and insurance. My DME did not make me return the first mask when giving me the second mask. I don't believe they can reuse your mask. Just ask them, you have nothing to lose.

Re: Views on vaping and electronic cigarettes
What are your thoughts on vaping and electronic cigarettes as an alternative to traditional cigarettes. Using them to keep me off cigarettes but never sure if they are safe to use with regards to the sleep apnoea and lung issues. Ask your doctor what he/she thinks, there still isn't enough informat...
