Re: Smoker? Don't smoke around your CPAP!

I'd like to be able to forbid smoking entirely, but I am not so empowered! If you're not going to listen, at least don't smoke in the room where the CPAP is (even when it is powered off). Make sure the door to the room where the CPAP is remains closed at all times (except for entering and leaving). ...

Re: Off gassing

You can try soaking the tank, hoses, and mask in vinegar solution. That should neutralize the chemical smell.

Re: When I die

Assuming that you are tethered to the machine for eight hours each night and that your chance of dying is distributed evenly throughout the day, you stand a 33⅓% chance of (eventually) dying while tethered to the machine. That makes this a very important question! The machine will stop blowing if th...

Re: Weird noise at the end of inhalation

It sounds like the rainout noises. Try any or all of the following:

• Make sure that the machine is lower than your head.
• Fill the tank a bit less than you've been doing.
• Turn up the heated hose temperature.
• Turn down humidifier temperature.
• Raise the temperature in the room.

I've decided it will be simpler to apply to U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for permit to permanently reside on Palmyra Atoll. Should be pretty straightforward. No DST to worry about there. Probably some good fishing too.

Suggestion for clock change this weekend

As you know, the clocks will change in most of the US, Canada, and lots of other places. I suggest that you set the Sunday morning wake-up time for one hour later than usual, thus waking up at your "normal" time. If you still need to adjust the clock manually, do so before going to bed Saturday nigh...

Re: Traveling

Since you didn't say where you're going, please be aware that plugs in other countries may have different a configuration. The voltage and frequency might be different too, but you don't need to worry about that. Remember to make a dedicated packing list for your CPAP. You would not want to forget a...

Don't overlook that she might be dehydrated and needs to drink more water. Consider also the possibilities of narcolepsy or epilepsy.

Is this smell similar to "new car smell?"

In any case, try washing with soap and water. Alternately, try cleaning with viengar.

They won't remove your gas stove from existing housing.

Only new housing is potentially affected!

Re: Odd comment from my Pulmonologist

I agree, 7.5 is enough for CPAP. They say that five is the cutoff, but I think that's too high. You've been using CPAP for a prolonged amount of time (long enough to need a replacement machine). Therefore, doctors and insurers should not second-guess the original prescribers and the patients. It's v...

Re: Travelling with the Airsense 11 machine ? Is it viable ?

Ok, I see that you were already reminded that you might need an adapter if you're traveling outside of France (which is shown as your home country). If you're traveling to mast parts of the Americas, the electrcity will be 110 volts / 60 hz. THis will not be an issue for your CPAP, you cell phone, o...

Re: Dreamstation 2 Updated Prescription?

This raises a couple of important points: 1. In Australia, remotely changing the prescription without informed consent would be illegal. Is that not the case in the US? . . . It might be "illegal," but I can't see it being prosecuted as a crime, or even sanctioned by the medical licensing board (in...

Re: Bursts of air coming out of mouth, CPAP no longer usable

If the air pressure is so great that it passes through closed lips, then the pressure is probably too high. If you have a pressure range, lower the top number. If you have a fixed pressure, just lower it a bit.
