Re: Medicare and Masks
Sounds like big jerk to me. Mask prescriptions should simply state "Mask of patient's choice."

Re: Let's play a game and maybe learn something while playing
The first two minutes you appear to be awake as indicated by the irregular breathing pattern. The next two minutes, the breathing shows a very steady rhythm which would be consistent with sleeping. If you can fall asleep within two minutes of putting the mask on, you are doing much better than I do....

Re: Made A Cleaning Mistake
As long as yo rinsed it after the alcohol, you removed any residual alcohol. Alcohol has a great affinity for water, and will easily mix with it. If there were any alcohol left in the water reservoir after you rinsed it out, it would be greatly diluted and present no danger to you.

Re: Newbie here - Could you help me interpret data please?
The CA you highlighted looks like you were probably awake when it happened. The only thing I would recommend is to raise your minimum pressure to 8 or 9, preferably 9. If you think that 9 is too much of a change, go to8 for a couple nights, then try 9. That will help with the hypopneas.

Re: alternating masks
Some of us use more than one mask. There is really no down side to it. I normally use the Evora full face mask, but occasionally swap back to my F20 just for something different. Others here on the forum alternate between masks more often.

Re: Cleaning (AGAIN???)
When I started treatment 8 years ago, I was also told to clean everything weekly and do a deep clean with vinegar once a month. That lasted about six months. Now , I do good if I remember to clean things once a month.

Re: F30 elbow
Did you replace the elbow with one of the older type of elbows? These elbows vented directly without the baffle over the vent holes. They were sometimes a little noisy if something was in front of the vent holes.

Re: Do I have to buy from Lincare?
You do not need to buy all the supplies they will try to sell to you. Most items last much longer than the recommended replacement schedule. Most of us keep one or two back up items on hand in case of breakage. My wife and I both use full face masks, and we usually change cushions once a year instea...

Re: Cpap.com prescription no longer valid?
Have you tried finding one on EBAY? I have seen several different masks listed as mask frame, but include the entire mask. If all else fails, you can always buy the mask kit (frame and cushion) and a seperate headgear. This does not require a prescription.

Re: AFIB and Sleep Apnea - linkage?
My AFIB showed up four years after I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. The AFIB was discovered when I had a severe asthma attack I couldn't get under control. The AFIB only shows up during asthma attacks and when I am using albuterol.

My wife and I got our COVID and flu vaccines at the same time. They recommended that we wait two weeks before getting the RSV vaccination.

When I had that problem, I used mole skin. It can be found in the foot care section at Wal-Mart or drugstores.

Re: How often do you replace your humidifier chamber?
I have been using a machine for 8 years and my wife has been using one for 6 years. We have replaces two water tanks because one of the hinge pins broke on each of them. Even we can get our supplies for zero out of pocket cost, we use them as long as we can before changing them.

Re: Choosing a mask
As previously mentioned, mask selection is a very personal thing. Zonker found his preferred mask after two tries. I have been using a machine for over 8 years, and still try out any new mask that comes on the market that looks interesting. I usually purchase them from CPAP.COM. I have returned some...
