Re: general questions/therapy

Thanks Pugsy! My guess is that I'm in a similar situation...small frame, small lungs, smaller gas exchange...totally normal for us. I looked back at some of my old Oscar charts and my minute vent is similar, no matter what mask, flow limitations, or pressure I had at the time. I do have very, very m...

Re: general questions/therapy

It's probably normal for you. I am small female myself (not quite 5 ft tall) and 69 yrs of young. My minute ventilation numbers have always averaged on the "low" side but it's normal for me. Especially if someone tends to be a more shallow breather vs big breath person. Weight also impacts things. ...

Re: general questions/therapy

What is considered to be a "normal" minute vent value? There's a very wide range of what constitutes "normal". It varies widely due to sex, height, weight, body build, etc. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minute_ventilation In terms of what you see on the cpap software data it really isn't a data poi...

Re: Aerophagia help please!

For me, it helped tremendously to take an over the counter medication for GERD and to stop eating two hours before I go to bed.

Re: CPAP therapy plain not working (various problems)

1speechpick, that's pretty much exactly what happens to me. I've had my best AHIs with a steady pressure of 5 or 6, no more than that! Although surprisingly, last night I had an AHI of 1.6 with the pressure at 8-12 with no EPR... It really seems totally random hahaha Djonne: The forum members here ...

Re: CPAP therapy plain not working (various problems)

Just throwing my experience out there. I've been on CPAP for about a month. I had terrible "chipmunk cheeks" in the beginning. I tried Somniflex tape, different sleep positions, and a chip strap, however, no matter what I did I still had a ton of air that would escape to my mouth and cheeks. It was ...

Re: general questions/therapy

I am not sure at what granularity you would consider a step by step guide. But try this. 1. Download and install o2 insight pro https://getwellue.com/pages/pc-software Note the directory where the oximeter files will be stored. You can go back and look at "Options" section of o2 insight if you forg...

Re: general questions/therapy

You really should be using the search box up there on the left below the forum logo. "There's gold in them thar hills" O2Ring's data can be imported into OSCAR. With the usb cable use 02 Insights Pro from Wellue to download the data into your PC. Then within Oscar you go to Data -> Import Viatom Da...

Re: general questions/therapy

Has anyone successfully synced their Wellvue oximeter device (or similar device) with Oscar?

general questions/therapy

I want to sincerely apologize for the confusion and frustration I created for not following the posting protocol of only using a single thread for posts (I was using a new thread for each topic). I'm thankful someone pointed it out to me, as I was not aware (yes, I missed reading that part of Pugsy'...

use of grommets (ear tubes) and CPAP

Hi! Has anyone had experience (good or bad) with having grommets (ear tubes) and CPAP (at the same time)? If so, please share your experience. I'm having increased middle ear air pressure and fluid with use of CPAP. I've tried decongestants, antihistamines, and lower pressures...but it does not alle...

aerophagia

I'm having sudden onset of aerophagia and I'm not sure what's causing it. I'm having significant nasal congestion due to allergies. I switched to the AirTouch full face mask the past couple of nights. I've tried positional changes...sleeping on left side, right side, and sleeping with the head of th...
