Re: First night treatment - many vivid nightmares, REM Rebound

My dreams were real bad too at first. But as I progress, I get them, but they aren't as scary. I suspect they'll get better as time goes on.

Re: I confess to being a bad girl

I feel blessed that I didn't have this problem when I tried to get accustomed to cpap therapy. You didn't ask for help, but try wearing you mask a while before falling asleep with the intent of getting used to it. Watch tv, read, listen to music, pray, etc... Also tape your straps down with strong t...

Re: Best Machine and Software?

Hello "Big D"! I have a Resmed S8 Escape 2, but I don't get any on-screen data. Next week, I see my primary doctor and I will have him write a prescription for a Resmed S9 AutoSet Cpap with humidifier. You can use this machine as a straight cpap or apap machine. Be sure the doctor writes down the sp...

Re: Full Mask Skin Irritation

This issue has haunted me since I went on cpap therapy. I started rubbing on Afta (aftershave) every morning and it worked well. Now I use Palmers skin lotion (they only make the coconut scent... so your coconut (face) will smell like a coconut for about an hour). I've seen Palmers in Walgreens, Wal...

Re: Silly question from a newbie

ambills: I looked back and I was working on my thyroid problem in February, 2010. I did not recieve my cpap machine until September 2010. I recall having the "salty" taste before my cpap era. I do remembering doing a search on the internet about the salty taste and not finding much. As I recall, mos...

Re: Silly question from a newbie

I have the same problem, but mine is a salty taste. I thought it was my thyroid, and it still may be. I would have your doctor test your thyroid. It's a simple test. Even though I suspect the the Thyroid, it may be a result of getting my sleep under control, and good apnea therapy. I do know my weig...

Is Too High Setting Harmful?

I see my primary doctor next week and will request him to write a prescription for a S9 Autoset. I just talked myself into an autoset (knowing I can have the best of both worlds of cpap and apap). Two questions: - My setting was originally set at 13 cm H2O. I bumped it to 14 cm H2O (with my current ...

Re: Help for husband, please

I don't know if he is ramping or not, but that is the problem I see with ramping. Though it is useful in adjusting to cpap therapy and initially getting to sleep, I suggest that you try to "wheen" yourself off. I would adjust my mask went I first went to bed to the ramping pressure. But when to set ...

Re: Nose Bridge Pain

As many here have said - I had the same problem. After two nights of using a full face mask, my nose bridge was severely bleeding. One of my nostril is partially plugged, so I can't use a nasal mask. I tried on a total face mask, and have been in cpap - heaven since. Take a look at my mask below. Mo...

Hope you the best. If you are sick I think cpap therapy may be too much to handle. Hope you get better!! Sheriff
