Re: Ugh, so far not good anymore!

What I do to make my Quattro 'float'.....Once it is on my face with no leaks, I let the CPAP run for a couple minutes to make sure that the mask is fully pressurized. Then I very carefully pull the lower part of the mask away from my face until I feel the seal fill with air. I then have some float. ...

Re: cpap prersures

If you have a machine that automatically adjusts....your pressure will always be at 11 regardless of the altitude.

Re: CPAP Mask Return Policies

I think the idea is that you EXCHANGE the mask for a different one. They should be willing to keep exchanging until you find one that is acceptable. If you are having a problem, ask for the owner/manager. If you still have a problem, e-mail the manufacturer.... Why not name this DME with their locat...

Re: want to trade for an Oracle in Seattle ASAP

Just a note...For the Oracle to work, you need to plug your nose. This means that you MUST breath through your mouth always. Most people cannot breath 100% through their mouth and therefore use a FF mask where you can breath through nose or mouth. Try holding your nose for 10 minutes and breath only...

Re: Full Face Mask worst option according to professionals?

The two recurring themes I read is that a FFM puts pressure on the lower jaw, thereby pushing it backwards and worsening OSA events My chin strap puts pressure on my lower jaw and pulls it backwards...... If I tighten my Quattro too tight, I get the feeling that it is pushing my lower jaw backwards...

Re: dry mouth/nose itch/burps

I also have the nose itch...it is annoying. I simply unhook one side of my Quattro, reach in and scratch, then re hook the strap. Not necessary to turn off the machine. Be sure to wash your face before putting on the Quattro, it will make a better seal.

Re: Ramp up pressure.

You are talking about the ramp. The pressure starts low (usually at 4) and then gradually rises to the prescribed pressure. I think most people stop using the ramp when they become comfortable with CPAP. If your prescribed pressure is upwards of 10 it will eventually be hard for you to breath at 4. ...

Re: cpap mask

You need to give specific information if you really want help with this issue.

What mask are you using?
What problems are you having?
What mask are you considering?
What is your pressure?
What machine are you using?

Unfortunately...NO. The autoset can be used in the CPAP mode, but the Elite can only be used as a CPAP.

Re: Just got insurance EBO from BC/BS

I agree the price indicated cannot be for the CPAP...In most instances the humidifier and mask are purchased up front and the machine itself is rented for a period of time.
