Re: Flow Limitations - Min Pressure Too Low?

Anytime the pressure went up to more than 9, it kept waking me I see this statement all the time. People blame the pressure increase for the wake up and they never consider that the reason the pressure went up (airway flow reduction from some sort of apnea event) might actually be the cause of the ...

Re: Flow Limitations - Min Pressure Too Low?

Michael, like you, I couldn't stand that mask because of the noise of the air moving through the tubes that crossed my face. A couple of ideas. You could use an "at-the-nose" mask along with a hose lift (aka hose stand). The Hose Buddy is very sturdy; the Houdini is not so sturdy but swivels beauti...

Re: Flow Limitations - Min Pressure Too Low?

While not a direct answer to your question, are you aware of this document from Devilbiss? If it is applicable to your machine, it may provide some insight into the algorithms used by DeVilbiss. Re: Flow Limitations - Min Pressure Too Low?

I googled your machine, and at this site there's a link to a pdf of the manual: https://www.drivedevilbiss-int.com/products/respiratory/cpap-therapy/163/devilbiss-blue Apparently you can set your machine to provide "SmartFlex," which will lower your exhale pressure. I recommend that you try level 2...

Re: Flow Limitations - Min Pressure Too Low?

Sometimes you don't get answers to questions because no one knows an answer. My main reason....I don't know much about how or why or what criteria the Devilbiss machines does anything especially with flow limitations. You are using a machine that there are simply not many people using that same mac...

Re: Worried - Severe Desaturation- Mild Apnea

I would love a night's sleep like that! If you're waking up feeling refreshed too, then it looks like the CPAP treatment has resolved whatever was causing the oxygen desaturation.

Re: Worried - Severe Desaturation- Mild Apnea

While having a level of less than 88 is considered to be desatting, a few points below that for a few times a night is not a disaster, but a call to keep an eye on things. Many people have much, much lower events (into the 60's etc) and survive well once everything is addressed. Certainly here in t...

P10 Mask - Which pillow size?

I tried posting this as a comment on a previous thread, but got no replies. Hence, the new post. Thankfully, things have improved hugely since my original post in October, but I still tend to wake every couple of hours, and sometimes more frequently later in the night. Below is a screen shot from a ...

Re: Waking Frequently (Continued)

Didn't want to start a new thread as I know now that it's discouraged by the forum moderators. So I hope someone sees this. Things have improved hugely since my original post, but I still tend to wake every couple of hours, and sometimes more frequently later in the night. Here is a screen shot from...

Re: Worried - Severe Desaturation- Mild Apnea

Just sharing my own experience which might be helpful, because I got feedback from my sleep/pulmology consultant. I was diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea five months ago and with very low O2 saturation for long periods at night. My mean saturation was 87% and I dipped as low as 63% at one stage. F...

Re: Devilbiss IntelliPap 2 Bluetooth not working

The Bluetooth for the phone app (especially iPhone) on these machines hardly ever works, or works for a couple of weeks and then stops. I know because I rent one, and on my second machine which didn't work with my iPhone either. I eventually got it to work on an old Android phone, but that stopped a...

Re: What exactly is a "flow limitation" ?

I think that you have to realise that most people on this forum are sleep deprived to some extent. They wouldn't be here otherwise. That makes us all a bit grumpy to put it mildly! Fair enough; and I'm probably not at my best at present, either. But still... I have other questions, and I now have a...

Re: What exactly is a "flow limitation" ?

If I may take up a little of your time ... My goodness. I don't think I've seen my failings so comprehensively and studiously documented since my first wife divorced me. You only omitted to point out that I repeatedly leave the toilet seat up. I have to say that I'm baffled. What started out as som...

Re: One large central

There is no reason whatsoever to be worried about a single event of 20-30 seconds duration as far as I know, but perhaps the experts here will suggest otherwise. Just to put it in context, my own sleep study (before CPAP treatment) showed an AHI of 22.6 and a mean event duration of 28 seconds. And ...
