Re: oscar download apneaboard and ads

pugsy has asked forum friend dogslobber if he could pass the word over there and maybe get some help on this. A little clarification. Pugsy didn't ask me to pass the word, she asked if anyone active on AB could let them know. While, I *occasionally* post there, I'm not interested. I don't like Apne...

Re: Worked great - until it didn't

Just so we can warn people to be on the look out for those ads and there's a lot of people who don't know about those ads for "click here to finish your download or install" sneaky ads. ApneaBoard users should use an adblocker. I use AdBlock Plus works great on ApneaBoard. If it ends up being a new...

Re: Worked great - until it didn't

OSCAR does not charge for use, nor does it solicit account/Credit Card information. The OP is carelessly clicking on links, and not paying attention to where he is going. would you kindly explain why i don't see that furshlugginer ad when i repeat those steps? btw, didn't realize that mac needed se...

Re: Worked great - until it didn't

I suggest that you use OSCAR software to see if you are indeed having power disruptions causing the "mask off" notations. They will show up on the graphs as breaks in therapy (however brief) if the machine is powering off. Adding to what Pugsy said. I deliberately use Ramp on my setup, not because ...

Re: Worked great - until it didn't

If it powered off I would have to wake up to turn it back on. So I don’t think it is actually loosing power. No, this isn't true with ResMeds. If a blowing ResMed has the power removed, when power is restored it will resume blowing. Try it. Turn your ResMed on, start the blower, then physically unp...

Re: Resmed Aircurve 10 ASV with 9600hrs

9600 run hours is about 3.5 years of solid use. Not old, but approaching the 5 year/15,000 hour mark that I'm not comfortable buying used. Ask to test it out: Bring your mask. Run it, listen for noise/whining. Test in the sellers home, so you can verify it's smoke free (pet free) and general cleanli...

Re: Worked great - until it didn't

The Mask On/Off statistic is a misleading statistic. It doesn't actually measure how many times you put on and take off your mask, instead it measure how many times the machine is powered off and on. On the nights where you have a lot of Mask On/Off events, did you turn your machine off and on a few...

Re: Is this pressure too high? Need help with Min/Max

Having your machine spend most of the night, at or close to its maximum (20cm), will not burn out the motor. Some thoughts: "Ramping", up to 20cm isn't bad, but it shows a lot more pressure may be required to control your OSA, than most. ps: don't use the term "Ramping". Although that's perfectly fi...

Re: Leaks and machine capability/reliability

Similar situation. showed Oscar to doc, and he noted that 75% of my events occurred during big leak periods. I would go to sleep for 2 hours and only have 2 events while I was at minimal leak. During the next 3 hours with leaks between 35-65, I would have 40 events. Then during the final 3 hours at...

Re: Donating my old machine

Generous offer, the AS10 for Her is a great machine.

But, consider keeping it as a spare, if you don't have one.

And you should post age and run hours. Donating an 8 year old device with 20,000 hours may not be doing anyone any favours.

Re: Mouth breathing?

Try mouth tping and see if the leaks and events go away. I posted this in another topic but it is equally applicable here. When I first started CPAP and then adjusted to it, I used a nasal mask and never had any mouth-breathing or leak problems. Then about a year and a half ago, my leaks started cre...

Re: dry mouth on the one hand, rain out on the other.

Radical suggestion here buddy. I know how much you love your beard, but chop the damn thing off and tape properly. When I first started CPAP and then adjusted to it, I used a nasal mask and never had any mouth-breathing or leak problems. Then about a year and a half ago, my leaks started creeping up...

Re: Determining the Minimum APAP Pressure

Instead of asking how to interpret the OSCAR data and then make adjustments. Post the OSCAR data and ask for suggested changes from experienced members. This way you'll get reliable advice and can learn the rational of any suggested changes. If you don't know how to read a chart to make adjustments,...
