Glad you tried a different mask rather than suffer in silence! Your experience is actually like mine, to. Thank you for sharing.

Re: First Night With Machine
"The Machine they gave me is the Fisher Paykel Icon, it looks nice and I like how small it is. I did a trail with the mask and it was a bit suffocating. I am using a full face mask due to my nose being so plugged up all the time. The doctor didn't recommend a certain kind of mask but she told me tha...

Re: New Bed
I purchased a memory foam firm 3 months ago and agree very restful. Only issue is I feel warmer, so in 25 years when it wears out I'll look for something cooler.

Re: Forehead/Nose Protectors for Full Face Mask
That is why I switched after trying four (4) other masks to the Fischer Paykel Simplus full face mask. The top of my nose was getting chewed up by the strap pressure I had to use to prevent frequent leaking with the Quattro FFM. The seal fits my face better and there is no pressure on my nose or for...

Re: Struggling getting used to CPAP. Help!
When I first started in September 2013 I had a few nights using a nose-hose that I woke gasping for air through my mouth. I went back to the DMEC provider who looked at the statistics from my first couple of weeks and adjusted up the minimum, but me in a full face mask. That helped but sometimes I s...

Re: Yay...Got CPAP, today...Questions?
When I get up during sleep (much less than before APAP) I leave it running so my stats don't stop and start over. I don't download any info but just use the little screen each morning to see my AHI, Periodic % and 95% pressure. But, then I don't have anyone to complain about the noise.

Re: Night Terrors!
Folks, I didn't see any mention of Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) here. I think we can become too sure everything is sleep related, which night terrors and nightmares certainly can be, but the human brain has various mechanisms to unload emotional trauma. One is to attempt to process trauma via nightma...

Re: Need help
Sort of hard to help. Abdominal pain when flying makes me think more of digestive gas that gets trapped as the cabin pressurizes and de-pressurizes, rather than anything CPAP related. Were you using your CPAP on the plane and swallowing air, maybe?

Re: Could I really be this lucky?
Sounds to me like you have a great attitude, probably a good durable medical equipment (DME) team, and deserve an easy and great start. As to the feeling great all at once, I think it depends on how oxygen deprived you were and for how long. There are a lot of factors that go into feeling totally re...

What about dry mouth only once a week or so? Usually I have plenty of saliva , in fact 2 or 3 times per week I wake with drool in the mask after sleeping on my left side.
