Re: why is less than 5 AHIs the magic number?

Remember......your O2 saturation level while sleeping is the real problem......measure it......and keep it at 93% or above while sleeping. Unequivocally? I wonder. My first step in the diagnosis process was to use an oxygen monitor for one night during sleep. As I recall my O2 level didn't drop bel...

Re: why is less than 5 AHIs the magic number?

Hey, are we talking 5 per hour or 5 per night? 5 average per hr. If you sleep 8 hrs and have 8 apneas during one particular hr your avg is 1/ hr. If that's the only apneas you have during the night there probably is something unusual happening during that one hr. Probably nothing to be concerned ab...

"Just because!"

Seriously, like the others have said it's most likely somewhat arbitrary based on diminishing returns as John explains above.

Re: Camping out with a CPAP in a tent or in a Car.

Hello fellow CPAP believers: Maybe ResMed will release the promised cord that connects it to a 12 v by next summer and all will be well for 8+ hours a night. A cord to 12v outlet would be nice, and easier to use than an inverter, but don't look for 8+ hours of use. The S9 will use the same amount o...

Re: Cleaning - how necessary?

here we go I'll make the popcorn I understand why the comment! Wulfman just PM'd me about the thread on this same subject dated Sep 28. Would have found it if I had searched on the word 'clean'! It's clear the reasons for cleaning are just a varied as the methods and schedules. Maybe we should just...

Cleaning - how necessary?

This is one time when a forum search went too well!! I searched on 'cleaning' and got 4557 hits! Anyway, what I gleaned from scanning the threads is that everyone has their own cleaning routine and cleaning schedule. What I would like to know, and didn't see discussed, is just how important is it to...

Re: I need a cpap.com replacement

I've only bought one item from cpap.com, but my new Hybrid mask arrived right when projected. I plan to order my husband's cleanable water tank for the H5i from them after the first of the year, Maybe I'll use phone order to ensure it's in stock. I saw a YouTube video today where a guy shows how ea...

Re: Why it IS illegal - sort of - to change your pressure.

And then there is Medicare, who may actually have a "big brother" watching me. Since my machine is being paid for by Medicare as primary insurer, I have to send the SD card in to the provider periodically so they can monitor compliance. Now would they pay that close attention to the pressure and no...

Re: Resscan Flow Chart

If you change your view period (little selection frame to the left) from hours to minutes you will get to see each every one of your breaths -- and apneas -- on that chart. So it is inhale/exhale air volume then? How does it relate to the Minute Ventilation chart? Both are L/min with widely differe...

Resscan Flow Chart

Can someone explain what this chart represents? I don't find the answer in the Help file, the Clinicians manual, or on the 'net. It shows flow rates about an equal amount above and below zero. One of the other charts shows Minute Ventilation which I understand to be the volume of air inhaled and exh...

Re: Why it IS illegal - sort of - to change your pressure.

I agree and even think that POSSIBILITY is very remote. Insurance companies care about compliance. If accused, most people would claim a machine malfunction anyway, or claim it was accidental. Some of the docs, DME's, R.T.'s I have dealt with are too busy to tell me what I need to know (had to lear...
