Re: Honeymoon is OVER...need input please

1. Lincare. I was prescribed a F&P 406 petite mask. Lincare won't provide because they don't make enough $ on it. Instead I got a too large mask. I bought 2 other masks one being the 406 petite mask. It fits much better and is tolerable. I can't keep doing this because of $ restraints. About a mont...

Re: Best FF mask for no leaks, high pressure setting?

I also switched from the Quattro to the Liberty. Great move for me. I found that I really need to be consistent with washing the pillows and cushion daily to keep from getting leaks. In time the straps need some adjustment (tightening slightly). I had to use a safety pin in the strap over the top of...

Re: Help me please, new user, new to message board

My techie lent me a machine which analyzed my condition. You might ask for a loaner to get the info needed to improve your situation. I have an S7 that doesn't have software, but a few weeks with the Respironics loaner and everything is hunky dory for me now.

Re: Help: mask is tight, but leak is high 48 L/min

I was using Respironics ComfortGel Full Mask for the first 6 nights. Average Leak is 58.4 L/min, the average AHI = 11.6 I thought it's the problem with mask, so I went to DME yesterday, got a ResMed Mirage Liberty hybrid mask (small) Last night's average leak is 48.9 L/min, AHI = 9.3. And I was usi...

Re: Swift LT-Burns Nose.

I have read most of the replies and some are similar to my experience and others seem off the wall. We all are different, so I don't mean to criticize anyone' s reportings. I have found that I need the humidifier with the Swift LT, to keep my nose from drying up too much. I got relief from the rubbi...

Re: Statins and Apnea

Very interesting article. In my case, I use a very low dose of lovastatin, but I started on it long after I was on cpap and I have dropped my pressure from 8 to 6.5, so I doubt low doses of statins have that much effect of apnea, at least not in my case. I might be more worried if I needed a higher ...

Re: Eye problems from mask?

I am still having problems with my eyes itching and watering for hours after I get up. Last night I was checking where the mask is on my face and noticed that the cushions sit right in the corners of each of my eyes. If I pull the mask down any it is going off the edge of my chin and I think if the...

Re: Humidifer settings

I have lots of masks. In my case (everyone is different), I need a high setting on my humidifier for nasal pillows. I use a lower setting for a nasal mask with cushions. I don't need the humidifier at all with full face masks or the Liberty hybrid. With the pillows, the air blows hard straight into ...

Re: Nasal cushions-

I'm a new CPAP user and have been using the different size pillows for almost 2 weeks (with the Swift LT) to find a better fit. My nares squash the air holes and I don't feel enough air is coming in/out. So I keep pulling them away from my nose but for the last couple of nights my nostrils have bee...

Re: New member questions

Hello, I am sure I will have many more questions in the future, but for now: 1. I would appreciate suggestions for making the mask feel more comfortable? 2. I am still having a fair number of events, but the numbers seem to be lower on nights that I lay awake for hours. Does anyone know how accurat...

Re: Nasal Pillow does not fit?

I answered that my nares are the same size. I may give it a try, but a tad reluctant at spending 100 bucks on something that may not work for me. I know exactly how you feel about shelling out $100 on something that isn't a sure bet. I have a drawer full of masks that I have bought and given extens...

Re: What do people use in their CPAP humidifiers in the UK?

I just use tap water. I used to use the distilled from the grocery store, but I travel a lot and would forget to buy it when I ran out. Never had any problems. Occasionally I would see a mineral deposit on the bottom, but it was always easy to wash out. Water here in the US has a lot of chlorine; pr...

Re: I'm buying a machine and mask, could use some help!

Get an auto! Gives you all the options, including running in straight CPAP or APAP mode. Good luck! http://a1149861.sites.myregisteredsite.com/roman_speaker.gif As I understand it, you don't need a prescription for an apap since it automatically determines your pressure moment by moment throughout ...
