Re: Mirage Quattro acceptable leak rate

ResMed already subtracts an unknown fixed amount for full face mask (per the mask setting) before ever reporting your leak. You would need to add that unknown amount back into your reported leak amount to compare it with the intentional vent rate at your pressure to have an apples to apples comparis...

Re: First night at home with cpap - fast breathing periods?

Great! Thanks! So those quick breaths that lead up to that CA event were REM sleep? I'm not worried about it just curious on how to interpret the trends and distinguish different patterns. It is possible. We don't have any way to know with certainty given the data we have on hand. It is common to b...

Re: First night at home with cpap - fast breathing periods?

That report looks awesome. Your leak baseline is going to always be right about where you see it leveled out. It might change if you switch to a different mask type.

Your numbers are great. I wouldn't try to do anything different. I don't see anything that needs fixing.
Well done.

Re: I got a new CPAP, help?

Not a significant difference between 11 cm and 12 cm. I wouldn't worry about it. Besides, you can always change it down to 11 if you want. Do you have the clinical manual that holds all the national secrets including how to change the pressure? If not, you can request it here. Just scroll down and f...

Re: Better sleep with Tylenol?

Okay, so how safe is 750 to 1000 a night, and NO more, for long periods of time? I would think it would be safe enough. I just think it is always a good idea to discuss long term use of any drug with your physician. He is going to be the one best to know if your liver studies might already have a r...

Re: Nasal Pillow... question

Ahh, the Opus fans I have tried it. The pillows were fine. Quite comfortable. I never could get the head gear to be stable for me causing me to leak all over the place when pillows came out and wake up all night with things sliding around. Different strokes for different folks. The Swift FX is suppo...

Re: First night at home with cpap - fast breathing periods?

After the initial couple of hours where I was adjusting the mask constantly, the leak leveled out to almost a straight line the rest of the night around 7-8 l/min. Should I be targeting something better than that or is that a good fit for the mask? That is a good fit. Especially for a full face mas...

Re: Nasal Pillow... question

Consider the barrel cozy. Quite comfortable and might help with the stability a little. Probably some of the best money I have spent on cpap gear. I originally got it this past winter to help with rain out but from the first second I put it on I knew I wouldn't be going without it. I didn't mind the...

Re: Accuracy of S9 Autoset statistics?

You are absolutely right, those are times I woke up during the night. You actually have me realizing all my apparent pauses occur shortly after times I wake up during the night. Hmmm. If you don't go back to sleep immediately those events being flagged after the wake ups may not be "real" events in...

Yep. Just recently ResMed compatible and still working out a few more bugs that have popped up with the addition of the fancy ASV machines.

Re: I got a new CPAP, help?

So, they "exchanged" my PR System One REMstar Plus CPAP Machine with C-Flex, with a PR System One REMstar Pro CPAP Machine with C-Flex + I am thinking it is this machine as described below by someone on this board. If so, is this machine sufficient? It has info on the machine LCD itself, but am I g...

Re: Accuracy of S9 Autoset statistics?

It is a bit hard to see but it looks like those groupings with the centrals are associated with breaks in the scoring. In other words wakeups. Then you put the mask back on and have some more groups and these could be sleep onset events or even toss and turn arousal. The machine doesn't know if you ...

Re: Better sleep with Tylenol?

It could be managing the pain in a manner you don't see. Use caution with Tylenol and stay within the recommended 24 dosage and you should be fine. You might also try plain aspirin if your stomach can handle it. I can handle aspirin but my stomach cannot handle the NSAIDs like Advil or Motrin. Given...

Re: Night 3 - rough start

Back when I used the Swift LT I also had a bit of a problem from time to time with the angle thingy. Despite my never moving it sometimes it moved on me. When the Swift FX came out I had to have it and haven't been sorry. You are new to all this and when you get the urge to try a new mask you might ...

I use the PR System One Auto CPAP myself. I have the clinician manual in pdf format. It will help you understand the humidifier settings. Send me a PM with your private email address and I will send it to you as attachment (we can't do attachments with forum messages). As far as the air actually fee...
