Re: Newbie would like to hear success stories, please.
I've only been on CPAP 2.5 months, but I already love it. Prior to therapy, I was not sleeping well at night and tried (unsuccessfully) to take short naps. I just felt so awful, I really thought I was dying. Now, I sleep well for 8 hours every night. I wake up in the morning ready to get up and go. ...

Well, now you got me, Julie, 'cause I don't speak cat. You know at least one language more than I do, LOL.

Re: CPAP IN ISRAEL
Sorry Julie, I may have misunderstood you. I thought perhaps you were feeling left out because I addressed the Orthodox position. I do not worry about my Reform Jewish friends refusing CPAP therapy on Shabbat, which is why I did not mention them. :) Hi Granny! I did not see Shtisel. I've lived in th...

Re: CPAP IN ISRAEL
Reform Jews do not worry about using electric devices on Shabbat, so there was no need to address them. Orthodox Jews, on the other hand, not only worry about electricity use on Shabbat, but tend to overthink such issues to an extraordinary degree. Therefore, I addressed them in an indirect attempt ...

Re: CPAP IN ISRAEL
CPAP Use by Orthodox Jews Jewish law, by the most orthodox standards, requires one to do everything possible to save a life, and that includes doing so on the Sabbath. We are required to medically care for ourselves and others on the Sabbath. Hence, there is ALWAYS a way to permit medically necessar...

Re: Pressure feels low in the early morning
Yes, my machine is set to start at 7 whether ramp is on or off. My understanding, however, is that when ramp is set 'on,' the machine takes longer to move from 7 up to my therapeutic levels, while if the ramp is 'off,' the machine is free to adapt and move the pressure up faster. Does that make sens...

Re: Pressure feels low in the early morning
Your statement makes no sense. If your pressure setting was 7-15, and your ramp setting was starting at 7, then ramp, auto or not, was doing *nothing*. Maybe you're missing some facts in your statement. Also, that's not how autoramp works. [/quote] How so? I've spent too much time watching the ramp...

Re: Pressure feels low in the early morning
I've been using my cpap for about 4 months, but have noticed that it often seems like the pressure is lower from the early morning hours onward. I have a Resmed Airsense 11, and have the pressure range set to 11-15, I think. It starts out fine, but then if I wake up at 4am or later, it feels like I...

Re: No distilled water!
Clownbell is right. If you want to know for sure, dig up some local data. I've spent some fifty years in Northern California, primarily in the Bay Area: San Jose, San Francisco, Livermore, Pleasanton, Berkeley, San Leandro, Santa Cruz and Sacramento. I recall only hard water. But I could be wrong. A...

Re: No distilled water!
I assume you have hard water, as we do? I used tap water in my humidifier tub for a couple of weeks. No residue whatsoever. I was surprised. The amount of mineral scale residue in the water chambers comes with a big YMMV sticker (like everything else)...not just mineral content of the water but hum...

Re: Forum Rules of Conduct
I used to own/administer a site like this one but for a different topic. My approach: 1. When a member posted something offensive (cursing, name calling, aggressive behavior, etc.) on another member's thread, I deleted the offender's post and sent him/her a warning. 2. When a member unintentionally ...

Yup, it's a cool down and totally normal. You want it to happen. Also, though, remember that your machine remains on (long after the cool down finishes) because the modem inside needs to be able to communicate with your DME people and/or sleep tech.

Re: No distilled water!
Amazon takes care of all my distilled water needs. I buy it via Amazon Fresh and have it delivered to my door within 24 hours. This week: $1.19 per gallon. Generally, they sell it for $0.99/gallon. I live in Sacramento, so pretty close to you in SF. Meaning, if Amazon in my area has distilled water ...
