Re: new centrals

Is there anyway to tell if they are real? In Oscar or SleepHQ, look closely at the breathing waveform immediately prior to the apnea. If there is a big spike of inhalation or a few seconds of very erratic breathing, then it's likely a false alarm. Thanks. I'm going to try to figure out how to post ...

new centrals

I'm wondering if a person develops centrals when starting therapy how long does that usually take to resolve on its own (if it's going to resolve on its own)? Thanks.

hair loss

I am wondering how people with long hair prevent hair loss. I am wearing an airsense p10 or f30 and am finding a lot of hair pulled out by the roots in the morning. (Not broken. Pulled out by the roots.) I see strap covers online that look to be providing cushion for the face. That doesn't seem to b...

Excellent! Picture worth thousand words. I would use the Pillows setting since it has that extra tube. This doesn't matter a lot.
I see, the pillow setting has something to do with the tube. I set it to pillows and will read this all over more carefully tomorrow. Zzzzzzz (I hope!)

page 7 of the above document states that for the N30 mask setting choice it should be "pillows".
Thank you! It was set wrong!

Re: Take mask off in the middle of the night

My sister was like this. She said little by little she slept longer until eventually she was wearing it all night. As sleepgeek explained, your mind needs to get used to having the mask on.

Re: Apria or Lincare

FWIW, the gals at my local Apria office are very helpful. The hold times aren't too bad, and they call you back in a reasonable amount of time if you have questions for the respiratory therapist. Couldn't get past the uber-long holds at Lincare, so gave up on them.

The time seems off, though. I'm not sure the time zone is right.
Is it off by one hour? Daylight savings time thing maybe?
Maybe. I'm kind of fuzzy brained in the morning and may be remembering wrong.

Re: new to CPAP and OSCAR

Thanks. So my son came over and took screen shots of last night and posted them here: https://jgardnerscollection.weebly.com/page-2.html I am using airsense 11 autoset (which is in my signature) and airsense N30 cushion, which I could not find in the drop-down menu. My prescribed pressure is 4 to 16...

new to CPAP and OSCAR

After many false starts, I have managed to keep a mask on for 5 hours or so a night for several nights. I got an SD card and had my son put OSCAR on my computer. So, now I have some data. I have no idea what I am looking at, so I need help. I think I'm supposed to somehow put the data online somewhe...

Re: anxiety, learning to tolerate CPAP

I need to clarify. I am having trouble falling into a deep sleep with the CPAP on. I doze off and wake up and doze off and wake up. Someone said this explains the many central apneas that are showing up. I think I'm asleep but I'm not really asleep. I'm just dozing. I don't know what the word is for...

Do you have any idea why you should be having vivid dreams when you use the CPAP and also without it?
No.

Re: anxiety, learning to tolerate CPAP

Also, the vivid dreaming that startles me awake is getting worse, not better, as I keep trying the CPAP. Last night was very bad. I gave up at midnight ad took off the mask. Then I barely slept for the rest of the night because every time I started to doze off, I startled awake again. This went on f...
