Pretty much the same thing as having a door closed -- having it in the closed position rather than in the open position.

You choose the hose setting size for the long hose that goes from the machine to the mask.

A lot of masks have short hoses but we always go by the long hose diameter size...no matter what the diameter of the short hose.
