Re: Sleeping on back ok using full Face mask?

It's a very individual situation. I always sleep on my back, with consistently very low AHI. Others find they can't sleep on the back without their AHI skyrocketing.

It seems that you're getting good results on your back, so why change it?

Re: New ResMed S10 AirCurve ASV - Need opinions on performance and settings

ResMed machines are notorious for making the flow limitations appear to be worse than they are. It makes mountains out of molehills. Not so much Resmed machines per se, rather it is the way non-invasive ventilators record flow limitations, which can include lower airway (lung) resistance. There is ...

Re: How do y’all rate the EVORA full face men

When it works, the Evora is brilliant. However, I found that on more nights than not I got uncontrollable leaks, no matter how I adjusted it. It's a shame because it's the most comfortable mask I've used (and I've used quite a few)

Re: Replacement ASV

Man, I am out of touch. I could see that central apnea could result in a higher mortality rate if not adequately and correctly treated. But I had not heard about that study. Do a search for SERVE-HF. This was a Resmed sponsored study of patients with severe congestive heart failure, who were random...

Re: new innovations

Following the recall, Philips have ceased selling CPAP / BiPAP devices in the US. If you're looking at a new machine, you'll need something other than a Dreamstation.

Re: Over 60 events per hour with cpap?

Just to clarify the data options: - MyAir is Resmed's consumer software. It's an app for your phone or tablet and displays only summary data. Plus it will give you some "Great job!" type messages that can actually be highly misleading. Best avoided. MyAir receives data from your machine via a cellul...

Re: New CPAP user here

Hello all, I have a resmed 11 autoset that I have been using for about 6 weeks. My sleep study showed 49.8 events per hour and I am down around 5 using the machine for 8 hours a night. All of my data is in OSCAR and sleepHQ. What would I share from sleepHQ so that my data can be viewed and any reco...

Re: Can I set an AirCurve 10 ASV like my AirSense 10 Autoset

From the Aircurve 10 ASV clinical manual: In ASV or ASVAuto mode, PSmin can be 0–6 cm H2O; PSmax 5–20 cm H2O So I'd try the settings Pugsy suggested, but you can't have PSmin = PSmax = 0. My feeling is that the PS will stay low unless the machine sees a need to increase it, eg when you have a centra...

I know that sucks for Aussies because of the exchange rate.
It certainly does! So do your weekly reports with the dates all arse-about. Come on man - you're an Aussie, time to cater for your countrymen!

Re: Wrong Usage Time

... They should have done it from midnight to midnights No - for the vast majority of people (who sleep at night), splitting the "day" at midnight would break up their data. Splitting it at midday suits most people. It's unfortunate for shift workers like yourself, but they need to cater for the ma...

I agree with the others - unexplained chest pain should be treated with urgency.
I got back in bed and started checking my phone.
At four in the morning? Not judging, but that is not very good sleep hygiene.

Re: Do you use the ramp function?

My ASV gives a pretty abrupt transition between ramp and therapeutic pressure, so I turned it off years ago. I agree with Pugsy that it's a personal choice - up to a point. With many machines, there is no logging of events or therapy during the ramp period, so if you have a 45 minute ramp you're mis...
