Re: ResMed AirCurve 10 VAuto w/HumidAir Humidifier

Can you post a photo of the machine and the screen showing 0 hours? It helps with the trust factor as some folks here have been burned trying to purchase machines over the internet via forums or Cragslist. No insult intended, but it is a harsh reality that there are those who would take advantage of...

Re: Dialing in comfort with humidity and heater hose?

That’s great news. Keep in mind over time the heated tube will not heat like it does when new. I replace mine at about 6 months, but YMMV as you are using it warmer. Keep a backup if you can. Nothing "works" like it does when it is brand new. But, if you're suggesting that your heated hoses have a ...

Re: Dialing in comfort with humidity and heater hose?

We all should have a back up of pretty much everything.....just in case. Murphy's Law says if something is going to break it's going to be on Friday night of a holiday weekend. I have personally broken 3 water chambers....all on a Friday night. Murphy was an optimist. If anything can go wrong, not ...

Re: Can't stop air escaping from my mouth

Here’s the important thing about air escaping through your mouth, you can likely stop it from happening with practice. When I started I tried to use nasal pillows (P10) and after a few days of frustration with little sleep I swore I could never do it. I almost packed it all in, but decided to post h...

Re: Favorite tricks to reduce apnea WITHOUT CPAP/BIPAP etc

In addition to the ideas of side-sleeping or in a recliner, one thing to consider is getting a soft cervical collar to help with keeping the airway open and help avoid positional apnea. They can be had for < $20 on Amazon. If interested let us know and folks can chime in on their favorites.

Re: Deviated septum, trouble finding perfect humidity and tube temp.

Fyi....if you are talking about the hard white tube, that gets stuck inside the end of the heated tube, so just the clear plastic inch tube with holes in it attached to the mask is showing. Not sure I would want to put a cozie on the clear plastic inch tube attached to the mask, nothing on padachee...

Excellent. Now you can start tweaking things if you need when you are comfortable doing so. Maybe try 82F-84F and 5 humidity, or 79F-81F and 4 humidity.

Re: Help for True Newbies

BB, feel free to start the process as you are going through the newbie phase. I think it is a great idea but the moderators are so busy with their own lives and helping us it is likely far down on their list of todo’s. As a writer myself I wish when I started 9 months ago I thought of documenting th...

Re: First Night!

Follow Pugsy’s advice, but also if you can download OSCAR as Respirator99 suggested that will provide the detailed data folks like her and others need to analyze things. You’ll need to put an SD card into the machine if not there to capture the nightly data which is then loaded into OSCAR to analyze...
