Straw cup
This is such a little thing that has been a tremendous help. Sometimes I would wake up in the night with a dry mouth and have to remove my mask to take a drink. The idea came to me one day when I was sipping my drink through a straw at McDonald’s. Since I have a mask with the hose that comes out the...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
Hi all, new person here, though I did force myself to read through all the posts. I see a lot of folks jumped on the Airsense 10, and I likely will as well, but is anyone still waiting on the Airsense 11? Is there much reason to? The videos I have seen don't make it look that that big of an upgrade...

Using a Dreamstation humidifier with a Z2
Figured out a way to use my Dreamstation humidifier with my Z2 travel CPAP. It’s using it in a pass over humidifier way, of course; no way to heat it. Anyway, since the Input of the humidifier is the same diameter as the hose input, I just put my Z2’s inline muffler into the humidifier input. Pictur...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
Yesterday I was putting my little inline muffler back on the hose for my Z2 travel CPAP after cleaning the hose. And I was thinking "Now, if Respironics just had an external muffler like this instead of an internal one, they could have saved themselves (and us) a lot of trouble!

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
I am now starting to think that Philips Resperonics is the new Takata* *The airbag manufacturer that made airbags for Honda and ended up declaring bankruptcy and ceasing to exist after a major recall. The fact that they seem to not really know what they are doing as far as quickly handling this and...

Re: Living without a humidifier
I'm considering getting the Fisher and Paykel stand alone humidifier. It attaches via a short hose to your PAP machine, and then another hose runs from the humidifier to your mask. Of course, it can't support a heated hose option with that setup, but it claims to fit almost any machine. My main con...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
I apologize if this has been discussed (it’s hard to do more than skim the crazy number of posts on this thread, many of which are completely off topic). My question to those of you who have those of you who have submitted claims with Phillips is: have you heard anything back? My son has a Dreamsta...

Re: Dream Station 2 and Oscar Update
The question I have: Is Resmed also moving in that direction? I also recall seeing something about encryption to protect patient data now that it's being piped into the cloud. I can't recall where I read that. I don't know if it applies to the new 11 machine. However, from what I've seen from the d...

Re: Inline Hose Filter - Any Reduction of Air Flow?
I used one a couple nights ago with my Dreamstation. Seemed to be a slight uptick with my AHI, but I'm still a newbie (1 month in - and had the bad luck to get the Dreamstation), and it seems like everything affects it. So I don't really know if the filter made any difference with my therapy. I didn...

Re: Living without a humidifier
I live in the Southern Arizona desert, BTW. Low humidity. I have a little temperature / humidity monitor in my room; right now it’s about 19 - 20 percent.

Living without a humidifier
Okay,, I have a Dreamstation 1 as my regular machine. Needless to say, it is in the recall. I had gotten a Z2 travel machine the Friday before the recall. Being fairly new to the CPAP world, I have been trying a couple different mask styles, Dreamwear FFM and Resmed's F20. Dreamwear fits me slightly...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
The one thing I wish I knew is if it takes some time and use for the foam to start degrading or outgassing. I wish I knew if my 1 month old machine is safe.

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
I'm new to CPAP world. Just got diagnosed in April, bought Dream Station 1 early May. Glad I just bought the Human Design Medical's Z2 and it was delivered on Friday.

Question about Z2 and windows computer
My HDM Z2 travel CPAP was just delivered today. As far as computers go, I am a Mac girl. I have a MacBook laptop, iPhone, and iPad. I know that the Nitelog app for Z2 is available for the iPhone and iPad, but the computer app is just for windows. My question is, does the computer app do anything or ...
