Re: My experience with mouth taping and related solutions, and further advice

Just a brief update on what has finally worked for me. I use a 1" silicone tape to cover the lips, then I cover over it with a 2" cover roll tape (I like this one, which is a bit gentler than the one in the youtube video) https://www.amazon.com/Non-Woven-Adhesive-Bandages-Breathable-Protective/dp/B0...

Re: Managing OSA and IH

I find it helpful to hear all these experiences with the P10, because I myself sometimes feel slightly suffocated by it. There's a pretty noticeable difference between the P10 and the Swift FX in terms of ease of exhale for me (and the difference in venting is apparent as well from placing my hands...

Re: Front Cervical Collar/Cushion Options?

https://www.amazon.com/KEEPMOV-Memory-Foam-Travel-Pillows/dp/B09PBN2Z1G/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 Why not just use a regular collar? They can be adjusted loosely - just enough to keep the chin from falling to the inside of the collar. Cheap, simple. I've tried a regular collar before and ...

Front Cervical Collar/Cushion Options?

I'm a terrible mouth breather and found that a cpap + nasal pillow mask + tape + "front" cervical collar was the best option for me. I use an "Eliminator" pillow (https://www.amazon.com/Eliminator-Washable-Travel-Sleep-Pillow/dp/B079C7HFGZ/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1535477615&sr=8-3&keywords=The+E...

Re: Bleep Eclipse...so far

I think this is what I'm hearing. I'll try your suggestion. To be clear though, the noise that I'm referring to ONLY happens during inhalation. For example: 1) Don't have the mask attached at all and just turn your machine. Then, using yours thumbs, place them over the magnetic ports. The mask is c...

Re: Bleep Eclipse...so far

Has anyone noticed a "turbulence/snoring" of the air when using the eclipse? It's as if the air is getting "chopped" up rather than a smooth continuous flow. Analogy: if you have ever played a woodwind instrument before like a clarinet, it feels similar to when something is lodged in the clarinet (e...

Re: My experience with mouth taping and related solutions, and further advice

Did you try the tape LankyLefty from YT recommends? https://a.co/d/fJHd7WL I find it works best to make sure your lips are together when putting it over your face, to put enough of it to thoroughly cover the mouth AND most of the cheeks on either side, and to make sure you press it deeply into the ...

Re: My experience with mouth taping and related solutions, and further advice

Update: Sleeping with horizontal silicon mouth tape, scunci on top of that, airfit p10 knock off, beanie+knightsbridge. It doesn't feel like it's leaking out the mouth anymore; at least, I can't get it to leak even if I purposely blow out with moderate pressure. However something still feels a littl...

Re: My experience with mouth taping and related solutions, and further advice

Yeah, you're right I'll ask my doctor tomorrow. The heart racing seems outside the scope of tweaking/optimizing cpap settings. The knockoff p10 frame arrived today and I actually like it quite a bit. It's vents are large and quite similar to the swift fx vents and that's wonderful for me - no strugg...

Re: My experience with mouth taping and related solutions, and further advice

A minor update: I've noticed that I've been waking up in the middle of the night with my heart racing once or twice a week. I've never really looked into this before, does this tend to be related to sleep apnea/ low oxygen levels? What is the course of action here? I could look into getting an oxyge...

Re: My experience with mouth taping and related solutions, and further advice

Looking forward to trying out both the p10 knockoff frame and the eclipse later this week. Last night was using the medvance silicon tape + scunci again, using the Swift FX. This time, I cranked the humidity up to 3 (usually leave it on 2) - this is for the Resmed Vauto so scale of 1-5. Seemed like ...

Re: My experience with mouth taping and related solutions, and further advice

Hmm I just found a knockoff/3rd party design for a p10 frame replacement https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B09JVSS6RG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It seems to allow you to match the p10 nasal pillows with a frame that has more venting (at least according to the item description...

Re: My experience with mouth taping and related solutions, and further advice

I used the P10 for years and years....got it right after it was first released a long time ago. I have never, ever had the vent holes clog up at all. I have never done anything special with the cleaning of the frame (which isn't all that often) beyond running hot water through the holes. I have oft...

Re: My experience with mouth taping and related solutions, and further advice

I have used the MedVance silicone tape in conjunction with the scunci the last two days and it's been pretty good. I think using the witch hazel wipes to get rid of oils on the skin has been a huge help because last time I tried silicone tape it wasn't nearly as good. The 1" tape seems to be working...

Re: My experience with mouth taping and related solutions, and further advice

Therefore, any solution that doesn't keep the air from escaping through my lips is useless for me. Good horizontal taping left to right taping is crucial in this case. And that means the tape that is best for your skin. A kind of tape that is no bother at all . Two have been mentioned by others on ...
