Re: Do the Dreamwear Headgear tubes soften over time?

No worries guys. It was a very specific question. I knew there wouldn't be many if any replies. I'm a side sleeper - and with the dreamwear that generally results in flattening one of the two feeder tubes. My airflow ranges from 12-15 and I've read that flattening one of these tubes starts having an...

Do the Dreamwear Headgear tubes soften over time?

Hello all. Coming up on my one year anniversary. Been going pretty well. Very helpful. One question for Dreamwear users. What's been your experience for how long the tubing on the sides of the head last? I've been using the same one for the full year. Structurally and sanitarily, it's fine. But I'm ...

Re: Which travel machines are better for awkward positions?

so no way to position a Cpap machine horizontally. If a travel machine does not have to sit on a flat surface, why do you think a sturdier-built standard machine does? What do you plan to do about humidification? Has your machine been recalled? That's a good question. If a machine provides humidifi...

Re: Which travel machines are better for awkward positions?

Trying to figure out which travel Cpap machine to get. Which model machine are you using at home? What are the pressure settings? I presently have a Dreamstation. Pressure is 12-15. I'm thinking of the Amtrak berth. Normally I would take the top bunk and there is only a net to store anything in - s...

Which travel machines are better for awkward positions?

Trying to figure out which travel Cpap machine to get. Train travel (berths) - plane travel. If there's not a known flat location to situate a machine horizontally, what is the recommendation. I'm thinking of the Z2 with a Medistrom pilot 24 battery ... It looks like I might be traveling a lot - so ...

Re: CPAP Routine

If you have the ADHD going on, I would suggest considering getting a Hurricane Dryer. This will allow you to identify the time of the week that is best for a weekly cleaning - even if it's shortly before your bedtime. Set aside 30 minutes for a vinegar soak - or whatever cleaning routine you want - ...

Regular DreamStation on Amtrak?

Coming up on my first travel with my CPAP equipment.
Going on Amtrak. Not sure yet whether I’ll have a berth or not.
I know I can go a couple nights without.
But any experience to share on using regular DreamStation on Amtrak?
I’d like to use it if I can.

Re: What should be my AHI target?

I am on a long caretaking stint away from home. I just have my iPhone and iPad. And I’ve got a DreamStation with a modem and Bluetooth. Is there a way of getting more detailed info from my DreamStation with what I’ve got so i can post to Oscar? It seems like the basic info available on my app and on...

What should be my AHI target?

Hi all. Ten days in on my CPAP journey. Pleased with results so far. Started at 29.4. Went to 10 then 6.7 then 3.7 - and it’s been floating between 3 and 5 since. I have an auto adjusting DreamStation 5-18 with a dreamwear mask. My average is 8-9 and my 90% is 10-11. My mask fit is always above 95% ...

Re: Newbie would like to hear success stories, please.

Just a few days in, but certainly feeling like a success story. Started with the DME I met with to get my tech. I have a beard, so had concerns. But they had the mask I was hoping would work - the Dreamwear - and it fit - no leaks - comfortable. Best first impression possible. My first night was awk...

Re: Does a full face mask script = mouth breather

Thanks. Have you found a change in mouth breathing to nose breathing over time? Just wondering if the humidity and filtered air can change how you breathe during the night - over time. It seems like it would.

Does a full face mask script = mouth breather

Finished my first sleep study. AHI of 29.4. Doc gave me a script for an auto adjusting cpap from 5-18. He also prescribed a full face mask. I know they had the devices to measure whether I was breathing out of my nose or mouth through the night. But since I have a beard, I just want to be sure, Is a...

Re: Using CPAP with 3rd Facial Nerve PHN

Okay....my two cents worth which won't even pay the tax on a cup of coffee. Take a look at the mask I use....no headgear straps at all to put any pressure on anything and it won't blow air anywhere but up the nose. Thanks Pugsy. I don't know if I'm man enough to handle the Bleep. That's a sentence ...

Re: Using CPAP with 3rd Facial Nerve PHN

I have taken oral antihistamines for many years before using cpap. The antihistamines practically eliminated my frequent congestion and respiratory infections. Cpap with heated humidity eliminated the nasal dryness that I had endured for years. Try both--no sense suffering unnecessarily. I hear you...

Re: Using CPAP with 3rd Facial Nerve PHN

Then why not see an allergist and get proper treatment - sometimes over the counter antihistamines can keep you awake at night (I use a little melatonin to counter it) which is not helpful if you have apnea. I want to walk this path for a bit - get my tech - and try it with the humidity. That will ...
