Re: Dream Station 2 and Oscar Update

Does anyone know if there would be any chance of the insurance company covering a ResMed device if I claim that it is a violation of my HIPAA rights. What is the best way to get a ResMed machine covered?

Re: Trouble downloading data to Oscar

Why would they do such a thing? That is very frustrating as I use Oscar on a daily basis to manage my symptoms. Are there any alternative sleep softwares that would work?

Trouble downloading data to Oscar

So I got my new Philips dreamstation 2 in and it did not come with an SD card. So I used my SD card from my original dreamstation. When I try to download my SD card to my Oscar it says that all my data is already up to date and it does not show any uploads from my new machine. What am I doing wrong??

Re: How can I convince my dad to get tested for OSA

If your dad has a smart phone, convince him to get an app called, Dream Talk Recorder and install it on his phone. The app records any snoring or other things that may happen while he is asleep… And he will be able to play them back and listen to what may be happening to him when he sleeps. The app...

Re: How can I convince my dad to get tested for OSA

Thanks for the reply, this is what I was actually looking for. I've got to find a way to sway his decision.

How can I convince my dad to get tested for OSA

Hello all, I'm on here today for a change not to talk about myself but someone I care about. I'm looking for ways to convince my dad to get tested for sleep apnea despite his hesitance to look at the matter. He doesn't think he has sleep apnea but has started having some issues come up. My dad has a...

Re: flow rate irregularities during REM

If you don't feel great breathing through your nose during the day, then nasal congestion could be a cause. nasal congestion will get worse in REM sleep period - blood vessel expanding. High pressure cannot treat congestion in the nose. a few things to check: do you still see similar pattern with s...

Re: flow rate irregularities during REM

Just to pick up on the question about FLs and flex. When pressure increases at the beginning of inhalation, that little boost can prevent FL in some cases, reducing the effort and potential disruption that FLs can (in some cases) cause. You might try A-flex, which might reduce the feeling that you'...

I sleep better but I'm still not relieved. I just don't feel rested ready to start the day ever. Just trying to find anything that stands in my way.
Yeah, I'd go with taking horrible sleep and then trying to wear a CPAP mask at 15mH2O.
I think this answers that question.

Re: flow rate irregularities during REM

OMT just so I can get my post count up. Look at this and tell me where you would get the most bang out of your buck: vb.jpg This was probably the best ahi I've had in probably 3 months but RERA is the highest. So maybe RERA? So are these Ratty Wave forms normal? Not every wave form dip triggers an ...

Re: flow rate irregularities during REM

I got another one-- "Train Wreck Sleep Architecture". Based on what has been stated so far, IMO you don't have an "SDB" problem, you got a "S" problem. That's a good one. Gotta remember that. TWSA Sort of like this guy below who didn't even have OSA (per in lab sleep study AHI 1 ish) but had really...

Re: flow rate irregularities during REM

The top of the curves look like I'm getting flow limitations. So how many? Your software says you got 2. Isolated single FLs, if they do not disturb sleep continuity (i.e., generate an arousal)(and you sorta hafta guess if all you got is a flow waveform) are totally benign. IMO you're trying to fix...

Re: flow rate irregularities during REM

Your O2 levels are within the normal range, well above what's considered low. Your device appears to be treating your apnea very well. Perhaps increasing your pressure, *might* optimise it a bit more. You had 3 flagged Flow Limitations and given the last one occured at the end of the session it's pr...
