Re: Cataract Surgery & FF Mask

The procedure is so short he will not even need cpap. Tell them you do not want the propofol for anesthesia- Michael Jacksons drug. I had this a couple of years ago. Wish him well and he is in for a real treat when he sees things he has not in a long time. My wife had hers a couple of weeks ago and ...

Re: distilled water on plane

Coming to Fl?
forget about the humidifier.

I have been on PAP for @ 18 years and do not use a humidifier.

Don't think many need them either.

Re: Is there a mask that allows the wearer to read in bed?

I use a breeze and cannot imagine ever using anything else.

I can read in bed with my glasses and talk on the phone.
I can drink water with no problem with mask on.
not everyone can adapt and adjust the breeze though.

Re: question about a pharmaceutical any had any experience

In my pharmacy, I once had a young lady who had a continuing Rx for elavil. One day she and her sister came in for her refill and started giggling. Her sister asked me if I knew why she was taking it. She then said she read about a side effect that it caused her boobs to grow. She said it worked alt...

Remstar auto system one- how to upload data

I just got a DS560S brand new unused and it is much different than my remstar APAP. got it from craigslist for 210.00. Instead of a smart card it has a sort of SIMcard attached. What uplaod sevice do I need? The manuals do not seem to have this info and probably assumes all such should be done by do...

How many really benefit from humidirier?

The reason I ask is that I have been on Pap for 17+ years and at first tried a passive humidifier but soon got tired of it. I did not feel any difference with or without it. I live at sea level in Jax Fl and perhaps would feel different if I lived in a low humidity area. Anyone here who used HH for ...

Re: Hydrochlorothiazide (or other diuretics) and cpap

I am not sure why you stopped hctz.

I think hctz is one of the most effective drugs for ht.

In addition to its primary role as a diuretic, it also has a separate bp lowering effect not related to its diuretic.

And how does it work when a homeless person is sentenced to house arrest?

Re: How real is the chance of dying in your sleep due to apnea?

I seriously doubt than many death certificates list sleep apnea as the PRIMARY cause of death.

MANY people not on cpap die in their sleep with many causes.

We have about a 1/3 chance of dying in our sleep, cpap or not.
It could very well be the contributing cause, not the direct cause.

Re: another reason to use distilled water:brain-eating-amoeba

I think it is totally irresponsible to suggest that PAP humidifiers carry the same risk as a neti pot. These are totally apples and oranges comparrisons. Microbes can certainly be transmitted with a neti pot or anything else that provides water or droplets. The CANNOT be transported in the water vap...

OT- Ignorance taxes

The time is approaching when we face one of the unavoidables in life- TAXES! Most do not like taxes, even those embedded ones that add to our higher costs of living. Little can be done about these, but it is another story when we intentionally heap on ourselves what I call ignorance taxes. These are...

Re: What is with these doctors? Is breathng important or not?

In reading sonme of these stories, I am a bit fortunate. I read a newsapaper article about 1995 about a surgical procedure for snoring and made an appt with the doc in the article for that surgery. He told me I was not a candidate for this procedure and recommended a sleep study and possible a CPAP ...
