Re: Dreamstation 2 adaptive humidification
I'm fairly familiar with the DS2 having had it for a few years. I don't believe there is a way to disable the adaptive humidification in the menus, but from some DS2 documentation I believe the 'Adaptive Humidification' only functions with a standard non-heated tube. With a heated tube it switches t...

Re: Anyone else experiencing connection problems here on the forum
Don't know all there is to know about website security, but could it be an 'expired security certificate' that has hosed up the site? Maybe the reason Malwarebytes flagged the site for me. https://sematext.com/glossary/ssl-certificate-expiration/ There definitely is something amiss with the security...

Re: Anyone else experiencing connection problems here on the forum
Have been getting the 'Secure Connection Failed' message for the last couple of days. Also when the site does decide to load it takes a bit longer than most other sites. FWIW Malwarebytes popped a warning message "Website Blocked Due to Riskware" a week or so ago when I tried to load the site and ga...

Re: RAMP settings on Dreamstation 2
Any chance you might be inadvertently touching the display when turning the machine on or off that could bring up the Ramp icon which can change the Ramp pressure? There is a 'Confirm' on that display, but the Ramp pressure appears to be changed and hold the new setting without pressing the 'Confirm...

Re: CPAP Class Action Lawsuit Settlement
Hey Conrad...... "I was given, what appeared to be, a brand new Dreamstation 2 bipap . New box, new smell, still had the stickers and protective film on it. After plugging it in and checking the hours, all zero. I still have this machine as a backup since I bought a ResMed AirCurve 10 bipap out of p...

Re: ResMed Bacterial Filters
You've already been convinced you don't need a filter, but just one more thing to note is that if a heated hose were to be used, the filter would need to be attached at the mask end of the hose which adds to the bulk of the mask and may be a bit awkward rolling side to side. A filter at the machine ...

Re: When to end CPAP
Get yourself an O2Ring. Use it for a week while using CPAP and look at the O2 saturation data using the software. Then try a week or even just a couple nights without CPAP and look at your O2 saturation data. The first graph below is before I started CPAP and what convinced my doctor to schedule a s...

Re: Continued use of recalled Philips Dreamstation BiPAP AVAPS machine
In case no one has posted this. I would recommend using an in-line filter with your BI-PAP/CPAP machine. It's what my doctors recommended until my recalled machine came in. I continue to use them with the new replacement https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07M6S9YHJ/ref=sspa_dk_detail_3?pd_rd_i=B07M6S9YHJ&p...

Re: Continued use of recalled Philips Dreamstation BiPAP AVAPS machine
At a guess I think, using WiFi via the internet might pose a security risk. For Resmed or any other CPAP company, and authorized healtcare professional that needs access to settings or firmware updates, the internet firewall at the users location would need to allow open access to the machine. That ...

Re: Continued use of recalled Philips Dreamstation BiPAP AVAPS machine
No...the machine doesn't use wifi to phone home to report data. It uses the cellular modem in the machine. WiFi is local...like so you can use your cell phone to view MyAir data that it has sent to MyAir via the cell phone modem. Your wifi connection stuff only applies to your household connections...

I also have an Air Sense 10 Auto and a Dream Station 2 and as you have found there is a difference in the reported leakage which I have a also experienced. I've just come to ignore the difference in the leakage numbers knowing they report it differently as LSAT noted. When I first got the AS10 I was...

Re: using a borrowed machine
My neighbor has sleep apnea but he does not have insurance therefore can not afford a sleep study. My CPAP machine is set at 11 pressure. Could it hurt my neighbor to use my machine at 11? My thought was, better to have something than nothing. What do you think? How much would a sleep study cost (w...

Re: Mask cleaning question
I would be inclined to think that the film that appears in the tank and hose may not be related to the recall and breakdown of the foam. The black speck you found possibly foam breakdown. Have you ever washed the tank? If not give it a wash with some mild dish detergent (Dawn is good is good if you ...

"The machine my mum is using is on this lift of recalled devices, but it doesn't belong to her it is on loan from a public hospital until she can get her own prescribed from a specialist (appointment with them later this month)."
