Re: Switching to a Resmed machine made me feel wonderful!

Philips is sending you the new DreamStation as a replacement for your original machine, which was recalled. They will NOT send you another machine from this or any other brand. Keep what they send you as a backup because you never know what might happen. 5 years ago wildfires swept through my town ...

Re: Switching to a Resmed machine made me feel wonderful!

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like I am not the only one. Looking through cpap talk I can see many of us that seem to do much much better with Resmed. There is a Youtube video showing the Phillips machine allowing people to have apnea, measuring it but not making any changes. Just search for someth...

Switching to a Resmed machine made me feel wonderful!

I have been using a Dream station 1 for 4 years. I recently bought myself a Resmed Airmini Autoset travel CPAP. The difference in how I feel is very significant. This is a wonderful feeling and I feel like a kid again. I have stopped using the Dreamstation and only use the Resmed Airmini now. It see...

Re: Please help. Machine sometimes cuts out.

About all you can check and maybe do anything about are the power connections either at the power brick or where the machine itself plugs into the power supply. Look for potential loose connections. I've been having a similar problem with my ResMed machine over the past week: leak data off the char...

Re: Please help. Machine sometimes cuts out.

Can anyone think of a way I can get this machine to stop dropping out? It was refurbished only a few months ago. You may have received it a few months ago my bet is that it is older than that and likely was their loaner. Who is your insurance? Contact them, they may have some pull with the DME. Oft...

Re: Please help. Machine sometimes cuts out.

There are auto-on/auto-off features in Philips CPAPs (maybe other brands too). I would make sure that "auto-off" is disabled. On the DreamStation2 machines this might have to be done by your DME. If you have a rehabilitated DreamStation1, you sohuld be able to do this yourself. Therapist checked th...

Please help. Machine sometimes cuts out.

My Philips Dreamstation is sometimes stopping making pressure randomly. There is no air pressure and the motor stops. Screen still shows normal, but pressure cuts out completely. Then it will cut back in. Happens randomly. Last for random amount of time, like a few seconds, or 10 seconds or a few mi...

Re: Zero events, Zero AHI score, 4 nights in a row?? New Aircurve ASV, REALLY??

Sweet! Yes It's right/ I have learned how to get lots of nights with 0 AHI too. BTW the events that get recorded are basically just looking at your flow rate and computing an average over the last few minutes or so, then seeing if your flow rate over like 10 seconds or so drops below that average, l...

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

I use Dreamstation. Recently, my motor wore out so I got a refurbished unit. Still a recall unit, but it has new foam at least. This makes sense to me for those of us that need our therapy. Get a refurbished unit to hold you over until you get a replacement and keep it clean properly. My supplier s...

You can have low AHI (even 0) but still having apnea! Solved!!

I just wanted to share my experience in the hopes it can help another. I have the Phillips Dreamstation. During July and August the machine was saying I was having low AHI, like .3, or even .1 or .5. But I still felt wrong and that I was having apnea. I know that feeling! Ok so what gives? A few wee...

Re: .3 AHI or lower, but still wake up feeling suffocated sometimes.

Hello sir- wanted to ask how you get adjusted to sleeping on the side? thanks I fall asleep on my side. I have a memory foam pillow that has contours. I go right to the edge of it so my mask hangs off the edge. My head is in the nook and my neck is supported. I turn the pillow at a 45 degree angle....

Re: .3 AHI or lower, but still wake up feeling suffocated sometimes.

Any chance your sleep position resulted in your partially blocking the vent?? I think you are on to something there. I am using a new sleep position and pillow (with success). The nasal mask has the vent at the mask, so it can be blocked if I go face down into the pillow. The good news is that it a...

Re: .3 AHI or lower, but still wake up feeling suffocated sometimes.

Update I made some simple tweaks to my setup and seem to have eliminated these suffocation events, at least for the last few days. I noticed that the events coincide with when the leak rate goes up. That is usually associated with mouth leaks. Mouth leaks usually mean I have a stuffy nose. Sometimes...
