Re: Hypopneas

Thank you Pugsy. Google sleep maintenance insomnia and start reading. Am wading through lots. Will post again if I find anything applicable to my particular situation, and try again to get a referral to a sleep specialist. unless there is something else going on that is lung related. A diagnosis of ...

Re: Hypopneas

When someone is still feeling tired during the day despite "good" numbers reported by the machine I always start with the basics. How many hours of sleep are we getting and 6 hours simply isn't enough for most people. Last night's 6 hours without any remembered interruptions was a blessed freak for...

Hypopneas

I don't think I am understanding Hypopneas very well, even though I have been googling a lot: just lately I have no OAs but several Hs (with AHIs around 1 - 2). Some of these Hs I can see from my Oscar charts are in wake periods. Are Hypopneas simply shallow breathing, or is there oxygen depletion w...

Re: dreamwear --nasal or pillow

Oh dear, that did not quite work: the only mask type setting on the Dreamstation is for a Respironics mask and it is set 1 through 5. My under-the-nose was 1 setting. For the Resmed N30i, the setting is: "Pillows" and there is nothing there for that. Should I leave the setting on 1 or turn it off, ...

Re: dreamwear --nasal or pillow

Issue 1: I had not thought to change the setting in the machine for which type of mask, and was reminded of that somewhere in this thread; [/color] Oh dear, that did not quite work: the only mask type setting on the Dreamstation is for a Respironics mask and it is set 1 through 5. Re: dreamwear --nasal or pillow

I just came across this thread this morning and I am so glad I did as it has resolved 2 issues for me. I was wearing the Respironics Dreamwear mask with under-the-nose cushion but changed to the Resmed N30i just last week because it looked as though it was rigid at the top/elbow joint so might be a ...

Re: Mask slipping off.

This guy found a solution for his mask slippage. May or may not work for you. http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=175036&p=1293242#p1293242 JPB That's the thing though, isn't it: most of the people that found the tape to be a solution were men, so not much hair at the back of the head for t...

Re: Hypopneas, oxygen depletion & REM sleep

Thank you pale rider and raisedfist. Problem is which oximeter will do the job. I had a go with Sleep as Android last night, though without the oximeter. Seemed rather complicated and it didn't work after I thought I had got it set. Would very much appreciate some advice on an oximeter - preferably ...

Re: Mask slipping off.

I had this problem: the headgear/velcro strap across the back of the head slipping about because of my hair. Respironics has a headgear with a rigid arm. I don't know how to post a link to it here, but the item no. is 111675. Google for 'headgear with arms'. My mask is more or less the same as yours...

Hypopneas, oxygen depletion & REM sleep

According to OSCAR I am having mostly hypopneas and RERAS. Does one still suffer oxygen depletion with these events or only with actual apneas? And if they occur during REM sleep is one going to feel lethargic during the following days, as uninterrupted REM sleep seems to be the most important for o...

Re: SD card and slot for in laptop

But even with the extra info, the events are not classified: Ca, Oa and Hypopneas, as they were with my previous Dreamstation. Is there any way to find out the Hypopneas? The different categories are indeed available on the LCD screen or MyAir or using available software like OSCAR from the machine...
