Re: Eclipse fix

What is the separation issue??

I pre-ordered a year supply of the new ones, which I received a couple/few months ago, but have only tried once or twice, because I still have boxes of the old ones.

I did have a problem when I did use them, but wasn't sure what the issue was.

Should I be worried?

Re: Eclipse Mask Live Stream in Less Than an Hour

I can't think of anything except the ease of attachment with the magnets being all that much of a game changer unless it is having those plastic ports things not dig into my upper lip area when I was sort of face down in my bed pillow. That does seem a likely comfort advantage. You've mastered the ...

Re: Eclipse Mask Live Stream in Less Than an Hour

Hmm ... doesn't appear to be a "live stream"; just a pre-recorded teaser video. In any case, seems a pretty straightforward evolution of the initial version, though in time I learned to attach the dreamports without almost ever having any problems. Beyond the ease of attaching and detaching, are the...

Re: Bleep Eclipse?

From the latest email, it sounds like the primary improvement they are touting is improved ease-of-use, which they achieve by replacing the mechanical clasp connection with a magnetic one.

If it works well, that sounds like a good idea.

Re: Insurance vs self pay

I recently decided to go the self-pay route, after being frustrated by the compliance hassles for even basic supplies, and realizing out-of-pocket costs were comparable.

I had previously bought very lightly used main machine and backup.

Re: UARS and what to look for

FYI, OSCAR can import the Dreem 2 CSV files, and display the hypnogram.

Re: SleepTech API

By "app" you mean mobile?

Worth noting that while OSCAR is open source and has implemented a lot of the hard work to read diverse proprietary sleep data, there is no mobile version of it.

Might you be open to considering developing that, extending it as you are imagining?

Re: Cannot exhale on ASV, did I mess up a setting?

slowriter, can you help me understand why my configuration has decreased the benefits of an ASV (i Imagine I have somehow decreased the difference between IPAP and EPAP.) I am a total newb to all things PAP, thanks. :) palerider explained it, but to say it a little differently, ASV is a bilevel tha...

Re: Cannot exhale on ASV, did I mess up a setting?

You have it configured so it gives you none of the the benefit of ASV. Why?

I'd say you want a max PS of at least 10, and of pressure at least 15, if not more.

Re: Self-titrating BIPAP ASV for UARs

You asked about bipap (bilevel; bipap is a term for phillips machines), but then mention ASV specifically in the title.

Care to clarify?

Re: Flow limitations (UARS)

The Resmed algorithm, at least, does respond to flow limitations, which are at the root of both OSA and UARS. I have a hypothesis that one good and simple starting point for self-titrating UARS is to adjust up the min pressure until the auto algorithm keeps the pressure relatively stable over the ni...

Re: Flow limitations (UARS)

Hi slowriter! Here is the image you requested. I am curious to know what you are looking for in this... Evidence of flow limitation, which can cause RERAs. The waveform should be smooth and rounded. See this article for more (particularly figure 5/table 1). https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles...

Re: Flow limitations (UARS)

As a matter of fact, I was finally able to sleep with CPAP last night! I slept from around 1:00-4:30 and 5:40-8:00. That's progress! The FLs are much better than they were, but still there. Also, still getting a lot of "CA" events prior to falling asleep, but no desaturations below 94. Below is the...

I don't understand exactly why EPR helps UARS, but I have read that it does, so I take everyone's word for it.)
The pressure differential simply enhances breathing efficiency.
