Question about supplies - BCBS-AL and Medicare

I purchased my CPAP machine and do not use a DME. I have been submitting monthly claims to BCBS-AL for supplies consistent with the allowable amounts and cost for the past 10 months and have be paid at a 50% rate. My local DME does not carry what I use and want so it is cheaper for me to buy on the ...

Re: Do we need to order pulse/oximeters soon without prescription?

@LSAT - Another forum queen -- If you can't deal with the facts then step behind the barn and shoot yourself like the ass you usually make of yourself. This isn't your first rodeo at it. OP made a simple statement that is CORRECT and of course your forum bully buddy LAMErider jumped right in with B...

Re: Do we need to order pulse/oximeters soon without prescription?

No, LAMErider didn't check anything or can't read. Just a forum queen with a big mouth and seldom, if ever helpful. You got the notice correct. Maybe if you get lucky you will make LAMEriders ignore list like me ... No they don't. I checked 11 different ads, not ONE mention of this eBay requir...

Re: Nasal congestion at night

That is an allergy spray and won't do much for decongestant. Flonase and generic equivalents are steroid sprays. They reduce allergic reaction and swelling which reduces congestion. What is needed is Flonase Sensimist - different product and no knockoffs yet. Wrong. The active ingredient in Flonase...

flonase nasal spray. or if you are a costco member, the kirkland generic equivalent. (shout out to dogslobber and his recommendation of the kirkland spray!) That is an allergy spray and won't do much for decongestant. What is needed is Flonase Sensimist - different product and no knockoffs yet.

Re: OT: Trash can posts

Possibly start a sub-forum called "Trash Can" and use a move post function to it?????
I see that often on other forums. Would be good too if the moved post did not appear as a residual; in the original thread - maybe not possible however.

Re: Adding Oxygen to CPAP

I guess one can find any data they want. However, if one does not need daytime O2 I do not think adding a 1L flow at night into the Dream Station is measurable. My data suggest that it is not with using the APAP with and without the O2 and by using just the O2 alone. In fact, My levels are better w...

Re: Overnight Oximetry Study

That looks very good to me and normal or better. Sleeping - anything above 88% is pretty good and a lot of the spikes are probably junk as Pugsy suggest. You could also compare the heart rate to it and see if the rate increases as the O2 decreases.

Re: Did I Get Ripped Off?

It was the top of the line I'm sure. It says Auto on it. I like the machine I just don't like paying to much. What gets me is they see how much I use my machine online and call me and try to get me to replace this and that after ripping me off. Easy to disable the modem; http://www.cpaptalk.com/vie...

Re: Did I Get Ripped Off?

Sure sounds like it. Supporting local is fine but getting the shaft is NOT. I thought the MSRP on that unit was about $750. You can buy as many as you want for $599. The one with the autoset and the air line has a MSRP of $749 and can be bought for $649. Throw in another $120 for a mask of choice. $...

Re: Question for people interested in the Bleep DreamPort no headgear cpap mask

That's some of what I can't get my head around because all of the insurance must meet Medicare minimums and the CPAP stuff is clear on what is and is not covered as well as frequency. BCBS tried to screw me around and I got right in their face. They didn't back down but the section leader called and...

Re: Question for people interested in the Bleep DreamPort no headgear cpap mask

Medicare doesn't let the patient bill directly except for rare circumstances and then only once per lifetime. Pretty sure most Medicare Advantage plans are the same...they mimic Medicare whenever they can especially when it screws the patient. See my post on page 1 ... I have a much different resul...

Re: Question for people interested in the Bleep DreamPort no headgear cpap mask

We agree .... I can barely control myself and the wife says I am out of control (which is a complete lie of course)

Bill your insurance yourself and see if they will give you 50% back out of network. Or have the local DME bill it as I suggested and pay the difference which is not too much.

Re: Question for people interested in the Bleep DreamPort no headgear cpap mask

Pugsy I think you missed my point. If they are an "online" company then they need to be responsive like an "online" company. Simple as that, else, only show the number you posted as the contact information if that is they only way you intend to respond. Pretty simple as you say and I agree. Actually...
